One way or another I've been earning an income since I was nine years old. Like River who is six months older than me, I'm from an age where you simply do what must be done to put food on the table and stay alive. I'm from a family where we recieved help many times and thanked all those who were our family and friends who did so. However, we never never ask for what we could do for ourselves.

At the end of the year I will be retired. Including today I have nine working days left. Next Saturday will be my last day to 'break the Sabbath' so I guess I can become a good Adventist next year. After all, I have SDA cousins who tell me all I have to do is keep the Sabbath. Well...almost. My favorite Saturday breakfast does include bacon, sausage or ham and as I remember they have a rule about unclean meat.

Since I have worked at the plant on Saturdays for many years with the plant shutdown, I have looked upon Saturdays as my personal day of rest while I talk with the Lord without outside interuption.

PS
Woops...my math or typing or something is defective. I should have said 62 years not 68.

To late to edit my first posting.

Congradulations on your up and coming retirement. Remember Jan is retiring right along with you as you will now be home all the time.
God bless you both as you start on a new journey.

Yeah... its an adventure all right.

The good thing is, I'm retired.

The bad thing is, I can't pay for it.

The good thing is, I have five kids I can move in on.

The bad thing is, they ain't got no money.

The good thing is, I really don't need much money.

The bad thing is, my wife got medical needs.

The good thing is, Obama wants to give me your money.

The bad thing is, if you give me your money, then you won't have enough to retire.

Oh yeah and happy adventures Phil. :-)
