Just passing along a thought that I had posted in a private setting elsewhere:

The SDA Jesus, while being equally god from the beginning, is a distinct being from the Father and from the Spirit. They are one god only in the sense that they work together in agreement. The God of Christianity and of the Bible is One Being yet three distinct persons. SDAs have been indoctrinated from an early age to insist that the Trinity isn't that important and that no one can fully understand God so we shouldn't be too concerned about the details. This indoctrination is part of keeping people in the fold. This flawed doctrine of the nature of God is why so many prominent SDAs can say that the Muslim Allah and the Father are the same God. If God is three distinct beings, you could worship and follow one apart from the others. But if God is One Being, you can't worship the Father and deny Jesus. When you deny Jesus, you have also denied the One Triune God.

What makes Christianity a living faith vs. being in dead works is that of resting in what Christ did and this produces peace. With Adventism and Islam, one never knows and also cannot know God. With Satan being in the end the sin bearer, it gives the evil power a use and a purpose. When our God does it all, there is no glory at all in what Satan did.

To take the glory away from Jesus is something which Islam is about but that Adventism calls Satan the scapegoat, is taking what Jesus did and putting it off into the future to Satan. But what Jesus did is finished and complete. We do not have a partial salvation and we have fellowship with Him.

It bothers me that Adventist students would so easily bow down to pray to Allah. Jesus said that "His sheep hear His voice". So why didn't they recognize the deception except that they really don't know the Jesus of scripture any more than the Muslims know the Jesus of scripture.
