Nowisee, wow. Thank you for finding these! Ellen White "was shown" Jesus as a Levitical priest...in the order of Aaron with the ephod and clothing of an old covenant intercessor! Hebrews COMPLETELY contradicts her. Chapter 7 is so clear that Jesus is not an Aaronic priest but rather is a priest in the order of Melchizedek, and (v. 12) where there's a change of the priesthood, there's a change of the law. I didn't realize, as an Adventist, that Hebrews so clearly teaches that the law and the entire old covenant depended upon the presence and function of the levitical priesthood. Without that priesthood, the law was obsolete. Jesus made the law obsolete...He's a new order of high priest! But look how SDA literature reinforced the heresy that Jesus is in the order of Aaron. Even subliminally we were taught that the law was eternal because the Aaronic priesthood was eternal in Jesus. It's such blasphemy! And it requires a complete denial of Hebrews. Colleen | ||

Nowisee~ One of the things I find interesting about this image, is that CHRIST is shown "standing," not "seated," on the right hand of the FATHER in heaven, as Scripture so plainly states in several places, one of which is Romans 8:34~ CHRIST is our "Advocate" not our "judge"~ This is such a misleading image~ ~mj~ | ||

1) Jesus is not a priest of the order of Aaron, but of the order of Melchizedek. Therefore showing him wearing the Aaronic garments and doing the Aaronic duties is incorrect. 2) Even if Jesus were of the order of Aaron, the high priest didn't wear the ephod and the other fancy garments and so on when he went into the Most Holy Place on the Day of Atonement. He wore only a plain linen tunic, linen turbin, linen sash, and linen undergarments (Lev. 16:4) | ||

Did you notice the fog going from the Jesus to earth goes straight to the part of Michigan, USA where EGW was andwhere Andrew's Univ. is located? That's kind of interest ing. My sll time favorite SDA painting was on the front if The Signs of the Times years ago. It even made it on the Jay Leno show. It had Jesus and satan dressed up like they were in Star Wsrs and they were duking it out with light sabors. Maybe simeone can find it somewhat and put it on here. I don't know.how. | ||

Great discussion--wow! I learned new info from BSkillet--I guess I didn't realize that the HP didn't wear the ephod on the DOA...so much to re-learn, huh? What WERE we learning during all those Bible classes, Sabbath school classes & sermons?? (I know, basically EGW's worldview which flavored everything, if you dig deep enough.) Asurprise--I've read that before, but it was good to read it again. Thanks. It now makes sense that actual eye witnesses to Ellen's visions sometimes smelled the scent of flowers (new age). One of those times is mentioned in the "Kellogg Interview". What were we in?? BTW, I found some other interesting SDA art...I was up til all hours last night searching thru 100s of images. I finally found a gold-mine.Can't wait to share... coming soon to a forum near you! Doing this research helps me unpack. | ||

I echo you, Nowisee, "What were we in??" I have become convinced that Adventism is not just misinformed and deceptive; it has occultism at the core. Think about it: how else would satan get to be the final sin bearer? (And the prophet channelled messages from evil spirits, that handsome young man who accompanied her on so many dreams...) Colleen~ I agree with you~ adventism is more than just 'deceptive'~ It it dark to the 'core'~ IMO this is the reason it has such a stranglehold on people~ In discussions like this, I am always reminded of the verse in~ Ephesians 6:12~ " For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." ~mj~ | ||

I found 3ABN on my TV and every so often tune it to it. I have to say they sound so Biblical but I can always tell where they are going....to the sabbath. Doug Batchelor said yesterday that the New Covenant is the Old Covenant written on the heart and that the 10 commandments were not done away with. He made fun of Christian ministers because of what they preach. He has it all wrong. I see now why adventism is so suble. To a person who does not know what the Bible says, they can get hooked. Exactly, Diana. They depend upon people being biblically ignorant. Adventism can't really "work" if people really know Scripture. It's really important to know and believe the New Covenant. Colleen | ||
