So, I'm visiting my dad in Porterville, California and in the mail appears a Tri fold flyer with lots of graphics and pictures entitled "Islam and Christianity--the basics". The brochure says that the location of the multi week seminar is at 'church auditorium, 1088 Linda Vista'.

Having grown up in the Porterville church, I thought that addy looked familiar. A quick check online showed it was the SDA church. The speaker is a Tim Roosenberg. These folks just don't know what simple honesty is!

What I find really intriguing is some of the topics:
The Role of Israel in the Coming Conflict--(really? After EGW said that Jerusalem would never amount to anything again?)

The Role of Islam in the Coming Conflict: God has predicted three major periods of conflict between Islam and Christianity. Two have already occurred and the last one is just beginning.
(Really ? I had 40 years of SDA indoctrination and never heard any of this!)

Sigh, SDA's always have to have something or someone to be afraid of. Anyway, thought I'd let the forum know of the latest twist on Bible prophecy.

Indeed; there's always a new fear. And this at the same time many leading Adventists are saying Islam is part of the remnant of Revelation...

How in the world do they figure that? Sharia law, the Hadith and Koran don't have all that much in common with Christianity. I can't think of a Christian with four wives (one of them a child), that thinks beheading non believers is required by God!

I wonder what they're doing? Now that world events are starting to unfold that don't support SDA end time beliefs, are they trying to make a smooth "turn" to make their beliefs "fit?"

I haven't read any of it, but here is my SWAG. The conflict between Islam and the West is what drives together Apostate Protestants and Catholics and the ultimately pass the Sunday Laws. Wouldn't really contradict any established doctrine, just adds in a little bit on how it happens. Otherwise a pretty standard Revelation Seminar, just repackaged to interest new people.

Ric_b, I think you are right. If any of you have watched or heard of Walter Veight, he brings New Age, Protestantism, Catholicism and Isalm together in one big religion that will begin the one world government and eventually the Sunday Laws. The interesting thing as Loneviking pointed out is that Islam was never a part of the prophecies of EGW but now seems to be incorporated into the end time message the church is promoting, as if it was.
