Thank you to all that has prayed. We met with all the doctors in the conference room at OHSU yesterday. They plan on beginning chemo today, but she has only about 20% chance to live.

Basically, in common sense language, it is a last ditch effort to save her life. As of yesterday, she is un-responsive.

The one thing that is such a comfort to me during this time of trial is that my daughter was saved at a very young age and has had many years with the Lord.
Pauls words have comforted me where he said, Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians 1:22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
Philippians 1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
Philippians 1:24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

As fleshly parents we made the decision to do every thing possible to save her life, yet it tosses me every which way.

I didn't entirely agree with the decision, yet for her Mom's and my grand daughters sake I deferred readily to what their wishes were, and all I can do is pray for my daughters comfort. To care for my wife and grand daughter in love and deferment to their wishes seems to be the important thing, and I know my daughter would agree if she were able too, because she loves them so very much.

Yesterday was such a load because my son was also getting chemo down in lower part of OHSU complex, and he was so tired and sick on the way back home.

I suppose this report is more for my own comfort than your good, so thanks for allowing me to ramble a little bit.

I do think so very much of my former Adventist brothers and sisters who have come to mean so very much to me these last years.

I don't know how to see the first messages, I would like to read this whole post.

My mother is dying from lung cancer. This is a tough time. She was Adventist years ago but the Lord in his grace has shown her the truth of the gospel.

It's so difficult for all of us, but we know that she will be with her Lord soon, and our parting is not for ever because of the promise of the gospel.

River: I can't imagine losing a child ... losing my mother is almost unbearable. I will pray that the Lord will keep you at this time and comfort you.

Leifl,

I'm sorry to hear about your mother.

If you scroll all the way to the top you should see two links with archived posts from this thread. Each dated archive link covers approximately a ten day period I believe.

Thanks for the prayers. I found the first post by River on the end of page 2 archive. So sad for you, may the Lord bring healing into your lives.

I was with my mother in the hospital today. Difficult news to bear. I have had her on some powerful natural remedies (which really rallied her health but does not seem to have slowed the spread of the dreaded disease).

We were originally against chemo, but it might hold some promise to keep her around for a bit longer, Lord willing. There's no good options available to us, the cancer is at the point that she is near death from the secondary effects (fluid around heart and lungs).

We've been dealing with this for a month since her diagnosis (and almost lost her twice except for medical intervention).

I believe God is good. He has given us a bit of time together (she almost died the day after diagnosis). There's a whole testimony I could give, this is a story that is yet being written.

Thanks for all of your prayers. This is a painful experience, I am so thankful for the love of God and the promises that we have in the gospel. My mother's faith in Jesus' completed work on her behalf is secure. But there is the accompanying sorrow mixed with some fear. Did not our Saviour also face these emotions in his pilgrimage on earth?
