Just wanting to "stop by" and and say that I hope all of us will find some peace during this Christmas season, know matter what troubles life has brought our way. Finding this site a few months ago has been a real gift to me in so many ways. To everyone who contributes faithfully to this site, thank you for the gift of your spiritual insights that have brought encouragement and answers to our questions. We are connected by having the unique experience of having lived life as an Adventist and having been some of the few that have left, finding by the grace of God, the 7 day a week rest in the Lord of the Sabbath. Thank you for being my spiritual brother and sisters. Though we have never met, I have come to know and care you all. --Dan Snyder

Hi Dan2,

It's been great having your occasional presence, present here when ever you present yourself!;-)

I hope that you too, like Bill, will visit Redlands someday. I forgot, what part of the country do you hail from?

Christmas will be very uncomfortable for me this year, but, it has absolutely nothing to do with our common background in Adventism. In fact, I'd rather spend a week in August, lost in Death Valley, with a bag of John Wayne corn dodgers and a gallon of water than one hour of Christmas this year!

Merry Christmas to you Dan2 and everyone else who is out there. It is so good to have each other.

Maryann, that is quite descriptive. Whatever is happening on your Christmas needs to be rearranged dear. Christmas isn't always Norman Rockwell but really.....

I hope the anticipation of whatever your Christmas is holding is far worse than the actual event.

Maryann, I understand and feel exactly the same way. You can come spend the day with me. We can sit around and talk about the Lord, the weather, SDAs and Christians. How's that?

It's bad when all the stores are closed....even if you didn't want to shop....and everybody is somewhere and you don't want to be anywhere. Do you know that the incidence of suicide rises dramatically during the holiday season?

Well girl, if we can survive less than two weeks.. it will all be over and things will get back to normal. The invite stands though.

Time and place? Pleeeeeze!

I dun forgot, what part of the country do you hail from?

I need to know how many 7-elevens to knock over on the way to cover the gas!!!!

Or should I hitch hike? My luck, I'd have to walk the whole way'-)

I have to echo what Dan2 said. I praise God for bringing me the fellowship of other true Christians who also share my background. What a gift!

Thanks to all of you! I wish each of you a Christmas with a completely new meaning!

God Bless you and your household,

Hi Denise,

You are right about your eye!;-) Sharp!

As to the 11 months....That is 11 months and 29 days to be exact!

Just wanted to make sure it was understood I WAS NOT refering to the Christmas tree cutting operation;-) That was the most "fun" 4 weeks I have had since I was a kid!

:):):).....Maryann

PS....Bushed is better than Gored:-)

Maryann, my dear sweet friend Maryann,
Oh BOOOOOOO HIIISSSSSSSSSSS! On this other pun of yours! You are bad to the bone, as my Grandmother sings. :))
Oh, I knew to what you were referring as far as the 'ordeal' and am very glad that you are counting, although, that can make your days miserable to count them until the next 'ordeal.'

As to the cutting of pagan trees, I'm very glad that you enjoyed yourself! <snickering>. I have a fake 'pagan' tree here and it's beautiful I must say. Full of the heads (ornaments) of my enemies..hehehe. People at the FAF meeting will hopefully understand that 'enemies head' line. I had mentioned this some weeks back at one of our meetings. Of course, I enjoy these 'heads' on my tree. They proclaim VICTORY! :)

God Bless all,
Denise

As to who is "badder," flip a coin!

Fodder for thought....

Hmmmmmmmm?

After getting "Bushed" today, I simply get a great nights sleep and wake up refreshed in this ugly old world tomorrow!

After getting "Gored" today, I simply wake up in heaven tomorrow!!!!

BUT....I still think that hugging the elephant is the best choice.

Hugging an elephant is something I've never done. although I did ride one, ate one and pointed one out in the middle of the living room at a family get together..:))
I know what you really meant but couldn't help but throw in a few of my own real life experiences in there too.

I thought everyone had gone to bed and here I am, trying to get over anger. YES, I have anger. Tonight I was informed of more gossip about me helping a man the other day as the paramedics showed up. Seems this is not the political thing to do around here. You know me Maryann, I will help if someone needs help and now there is gossip and bad gossip at that, because I did help. I'm not supposed to get involved it seems.

Funny, it's okay to help everyone out in showers, cleaning their homes, escourting them to the store and on and on but if they need a paramedic, I'm supposed to stay away. What trash!

Again, it's the law of the land, in this case the complex, vs the Law of God. I will obey God.

Sheesh,,I cannot believe these people sometimes,,gossip, gossip gossip and not good gossip either. And I know I am probably gossiping right now but in defense of me helping others, I will stand firm. That's all there is to that. I'll probably get booted out of here because I dare to help someone in need while waiting on the paramedics.

I used to be a paramedic and medivac unit! I flew the H111 and did this for a living. I guess people are jealous.

But what is odd about this whole thing is that whenever anyone else has had the paramedics called for them, everyone is around and nobody has ever been reprimanded for it nor did they bad talk about the others. I guess this week, I am the target.

Thanks for listening and God Bless you for your patience,
Denise, the frustrated and bewildered.

Do you think an elephant will help this situation?
Awaiting your response
God luv ya Maryann, I would have called but thought you were probably in bed so here I am, venting my frustration at the law here in this complex that I'm only to help if it is someone that was popular, because that is what this is boiling down to. I pointed out to a Church person, who pointed out the gossip to me, that there is a story about the good samaritan in the Bible. I was told to stop talking and change the subject....!!!!!!!!!!

I am very frustrated right now, can ya tell?

Again, God bless you greatly,
Denise, the one who is not supposed to help the underdog as it is not politically correct. I say BULL!

Hmmm, guess I am 'badder' and TO THE BONE! Oh no, what ever shall I do with myself??
I'm told that I should kiss a**. Well, you can imagine how well that one went over with me.

:)) your sister in Christ Jesus (with all my character defects and flaws)
Denise the baddest..to the bone no less

P.S. to all lurkers and non posters (redundant perhaps). I cannot nor will I take on the, 'don't get involved and help' spirit. It's not me. There otta be a law against those who just watch someone die rather than try to save them.

I cannot imagine my pocketbook more important than a life. This is the spirit of most people I know and I detest it to my death.

The address is right here where I live. I'm told that the manager will come down on me so to prepare myself.
The man that lives below me was the one that needed assistance. He calls me from time to time and when I heard sirens, I went a running out my door to assist in any way I could. Not knowing who was the victim, I simply saw a scuffle of people outside of the apartment below me and motioning for the paramedics to come there.

I went in and this poor man was telling me he was having trouble breathing. He is 96 years old. I assured him that God is watching over him and that I'm here and now the paramedics are going to come in and take him to the hospital.

This elderly man then was upset because of the pace of the paramedics. Again, I reassured him that soon he would be at the hospital getting some good care.

He then pointed out to me that he has his wallet in his hands and he doesn't want to lose it. When the paramedics arrived, they wheeled him out in the wheelchair and then stood there waiting on this elderly man to stand up to sit on the gurney. They did not attempt to help him stand so I was behind the elderly gentleman and put my hands under is armpit area to help him stand.

He stood, then turned his back to the the gurney and the paramedics helped him onto the gurney.

At this point they then covered him with a sheet but because of John's death and his missing wallet, after an ambulance ride, I made sure to tell the paramedics that his mans wallet is in his hands and to be sure he doesn't lose it as all his medical and insurance information is in it. They said they would be sure it is safe.

At this point, this elderly man's helper came. She is a woman that comes frequently to help assist him in many things. I then told her what was going on and that his wallet is in his hands and I fear him dropping it, in his condition.

She then went into the ambulance and obtained the wallet and followed him to the hospital.

I went back to my apartment with many people coming to my door asking me what was the matter with this man. I didn't say much except that he is having some breathing problems.

Three days later, the man returned home. This afternoon, he again was taken to the hospital and is not expected to live. I didn't know of him going this afternoon as I was busy giving a bath to another gentleman in this complex and doing the hair of an elderly woman after that..plus a few other things...etc.

Tonight I get a call to warn me of coming danger from the management as gossip has spread to her from the other day when nobody was out there to assist this man in his dilema but little ole me.

Really, about all I could do for him that day was reassure him that someone was there and to be sure the paramedics watched over his wallet.

From this, it seems there is quite the to-do now over my being there at all that day.

People!

I have heard so many people claim that they will NOT help out another as they fear being sued. I will tell them point blank that there is nothing anyone could sue me for as I have nothing of value. I also make a point to let people know that just because others will not help, doesn't mean that I won't because it is in my nature to help. Not just the popular people but the underdog too. I refuse to be what I am not.

That's the short of it for now.
P.S. I have no clue how to spell gourney, or gurney or however it's spelled, I only used them. Never had a reason to spell it before.
Also, please Maryann, do NOT call my manager as that would make matters worse. Just encourage me as I could really use that tonight. The thought of having to move again is too much to handle.

God Bless you for caring,
Denise

Hello Maryann,
I'm so sorry for that night you were told off by my manager. Really, she is a nice woman that really cares for the people here. She would love the roses!

You are right. I did no wrong but last night while delivering my own defense I was told to "Shut up." But not by the management, rather by a "Church lady."

Oh, how I hate those words! I am angry still today. God help me.

God Bless you and I am looking forward to Friday night! Ohhhh, how I need the fellowship!

Denise (going off the deep end)
