Can anyone tell me about the "nut" that was an Adventist pastor and left and is now living somewhere like Arizona in the hills w/a few of his followers. This guy is a weirdo!!!! They say this is the next Waco. I use to have the website that told about him but I don't have it anymore. Was just wondering what was going on w/ that or if anybody has any info on this.

Nancy,

I believe that would be Michael Travesser. His website "www.travesser.com" is now closed. However, recently they added a new link. So, now, if you go to the travesser website, they will lead you to a bizarre editorial site:

http://www.the-editorial.com/blog/

I just did a search under "Michael Travesser," because it seems every few months something new pops up. I'll get back to you on what I find.

Hope that Helps

I found this on the following website:

http://www.youthontherock.com/viewtopic.php?t=3040

I don't know if any of you remember, but a few months ago a man who called himself Fortitude Travesser came on this site claiming that Christ has returned and he was called Michael....Well, recently, this group of fanatical cultist have changed their tune. They've given up the "Christ is back and his name is Micheal" campagn, and now they're all about politics. They have fun bashing Pres. Bush, the US and everything about this country.

This is the website for their new campagn. http://www.the-editorial.com/blog/

I was wondering what your thoughts were on this, I'm appalled at their disrespect for the United States...but I think its kind of humerous that theyve given up on their claim that Michael (Wayne Bent) is the 2nd Christ.
--------------------------------------------

DEBBIE's NOTE: I seriously doubt that they've given up the claim about Michael being the 2nd Christ; they're just not discussing it overtly.

The following website will take you to some of Michael Travesser's teachings:

http://www.webspawner.com/users/kaitoula/

One of the links at the bottom of this page is titled "Visit the Messiah," and when you click on it, it takes you to "www.travesser.com," which, of course, is the Travesser "Family" website that is closed, but that now has the link to the new editorial website that bashes President Bush and the U.S., etc.

It is interesting that there is even a LDS (Mormon) website warning against this guy.

Check out what the following LDS website says about Michael Travesser:

The Anti-Christ Advertisement is Back!
Dear site visitors, I would like to let you know of a link on my site that goes to an Anti-Christ web site. It is in the "Sponsored Links" section on the bottom of every page and it's called "Who is Michael Travesser?" Do not go to this site! The owner of this site claims he is the Christ.

Unfortunately I do not have any control over what sites are listed in the "Sponsored Links" section (or any of the other ads on this site) because they are paid advertising controlled by About, Inc which owns this site.

From time to time bad sites are posted in this section, so please see this post, which will always be on my homepage, before clicking on those links. The only legitimate LDS web sites listed in the "Sponsored Links" section are:
- Kirtland HealthShare
- Scriptorian, LDS Scripture Software
------------------------------------------------

THIS MICHAEL TRAVESSER "FAMILY" IS BIZARRE INDEED!

Yes, that's the guy!!! I mean, how do people get soo "OFF" track?===could it be "Satan"?? Any of you that have watched SNL knows this term!! Ha! Not that I watch alot of that now but have in the past!!!! Here I go trying to explain myself. Have done that for years when I was SDA. Lived a double life b/c I didn't know how to live. Afraid I would get found out doing any little thing wrong and then tried living a normal life like I thought everyone else was living except ME!!! I really enjoy reading everyone's news b/c it's like everything said is "been there done that" sort of thing. There's nothing said that hasn't happened to me or that I haven't felt. I usually don't say much here, just shake my head thinking how great it is to go to a place where formers are to unload or just to get insight of what's going on which is to say---"The same old thing" I'm so happy knowing I don't have to do all those "rules" set down by the church or that I'm lost if I'm not an Adventist. That use to be such a scary thing for me. EGW and all her visions--sounded like she was under the influence of something other than the HS. If I could help one person out of Adventism, I would be one happy person. I still have a few in my family that are and I know they look at us, like I use to b/c I didn't know any better, like, "You poor thing, you're lost b/c you don't keep the Sabbath. They think I've "Lost My Way". I can tell you to the letter what my mother is thinking b/c I use to hear her talk all the time about other people concerning this. She doesn't go there w/ me any more b/c I get cry/ee mad and we end up no where. I have to learn how to be quiet and let God lead. It's hard sometimes. It's like I get fighting mad b/c it's so stupid and I see her so depressed and sad at times along w/ all the little "adventist gargle talk" she'll drop every now and then. It's like "Mother spit it out b/c I know what you're really saying and thinking" Don't beat around the bush--you don't have to---been there, done that"----I remember too well!!! Oh sorry---just got off for a minute.
Thanks for the info---again was just curious what was going on w/ the goon!!!

Bb is referring to the classic Church Lady skits by Dana Carvey. Boy, he sure is a good clone of what EGW might have been like. :> As for people follwing these self-claimed messiahs, Jesus said very clearly if you hear that the Son of Man is here or there, DO NOT BELIEVE IT. Because when he does return every eye will see him. So, he's not off hiding in a cave.

AMEN PW for that!!! But for Adventist w/ the so called "special message", she supposedly had the insight to when the Son of Man's return was but didn't happen. I mean, what would be everybody's clue as to that when she predicted it twice and failed. Excuse after excuse. No one knows the return of our Savior not even the angels but only God himself. They take her word over the Bible. Big mistake!!!!!

Exactly Nancy...it's the same with any cult. Whenever a prediction fails to come true, they cover it up by "spiritualizing" it somehow with excuses. Many times they end up saying that it wasn't meant to be taken literally. If that was the case, then it was really pointless to even proclaim it in the first place.

PW--You got it!!! I often ask myself----"How did I miss it" Those things ought to be so obvious to people. When I go over to my mother's house and see all that SDA literature laying around, I just want to scoop it up and throw it away. No wonder she can't see past her nose b/c when that's all one reads then you can't see anything else. When we left in '98 (which wasn't soon enough)and started reading the Bible only, did the veil finally lift. What a revelation!!!!!

That was my problem, I didn't know the Bible well enough to know that when a sect requires additional reading from a so-called prophet then you better watch out. They place more emphasis on that person than the Word itself.
