I found a gem of a book today, written by an SDA doctor & his R.N. wife..."Science & Modern Manna" by Lloyd & Doris Rosenwold, 1958. Since it cost me only 33 cents, I had to have it.

The entire book "proves" that EGW's "health messages from God" are scientifically accurate & are a solemn warning to SDA church members.

So...just to let you all know:

"It is IMPOSSIBLE for those who make free use of flesh meats to have an unclouded brain and an active intellect." (3 T pg. 51)

Also:

"The people who lived before the flood ate animal food and gratified their lusts until their cup of iniquity was full, and God cleansed the earth of it's moral pollution by a flood..." (Counsels on Diet & Foods, pg. 373, Spiritual Gifts IV, 120, 121, 1864) (Too many hotdogs eaten by the antediluvians helped bring on the flood???)

And the authors argue that Jesus never mentioned the "special light" on health reform to His disciples because He said, "I have yet many things to say unto you, but YE CANNOT BEAR THEM NOW. Howbeit when He the Spirit of Truth is come, He will guide you into all truth..." John 16:12-14.

"About one hundred years ago God saw fit to begin sending special light on health reform to His remnant church. For many years, until the voice of the prophet was stilled in death, new messages were given and the writings remain to this day for our benefit." pg. 81.

And:

"The reason why many of us will fall in the time of trouble is because of laxity in temperance and indulgence of appetite....Nine tenths of the wickedness among children of today is caused by intemperance in eating and drinking." (Temperance pg. 150)

And a final chiding by the authors:

"We are amazed how many SDA Christians will have CATSUP on their tables." pg. 156

Annikahansen,

Wow, I had best get up to date on my forum reading. Anyway, welcome.

I tend to avoid the food topics here but I love to cook. I am big on eating healthy. Just one little thought: Take out the sugar and catsup is good for you. Since my wife is diabetic that is the only kind we have and it actually tastes better than the regular kind.

I have heard that quote about the "unclouded brain and an active intellect" not being possible for flesh eaters from SDA's.

Did Jesus, or Paul, or Moses, or Eli, or Solomon have clouded brains and inactive intellects? Were the moral sensitivities of Jesus blunted by the eating of flesh?

Did you ever meet anyone that was addicted to vinegar?
