I was just looking back at something I wrote during the week of intense study that led up to my new birth: "In prayer, I told Jesus that it feels so wrong because I've been taught that Adventism is the only way. Immediately, a thought flashed through my mind. 'Is Adventism the way, the truth, and the life? No, I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life.'" I had forgotten about that incident! Good thing I wrote it down!

Yes! It hit me that as sdas I was taught & said 'WE have THE Truth.' But as an sda I did not really have Jesus, who said that HE IS THE Truth. It's all about Him!

I absolutely love this forum . . . I've recently engaged in a disheartening discussion on FB with an SDA who plugs her ears to anyone who speaks negatively about EGW or SDAism. I posted on my FB John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. . . " I thought I would take a break from debating and decided to check in on the FAF forum and . . . Wahla!!! this thread is the first one I tuned into - referencing that same verse content. God is SO Good, especially when I feel like a defeated warrior who dropped her sword.

Grace1958_f~

Remember, feelings of "a defeated warrior who dropped her sword", come
from the one who is a Liar, Thief, and Destroyer of our Confidence and Peace!

'Our' FATHER in Heaven is the one who tells us in His Word~

"For I am your greatest encourager..." 2Thess.2:16,17.
He also tells us~ "And I rejoice over you with singing." Zeph. 3:17.

Eternal_Joy, I love that!! Thank you for sharing it! I think I thought that way too! "Saturday Sabbath is the way, the truth, the life!" is completely how I lived!! I would never have said it, but somehow I was able to split my actions from my thoughts...

I have been reading my old journals lately too. We cleaned out our garage and I brought my memory box in the house for fun. It's been sitting here for months and I finally got bored and started going through it. My journals have all been prayer journals since I was young. It is kind of confusing me...! But, I am beginning to think I need to continue journaling because it really is amazing to look back and see some of these prayers and how they have been answered. It is also amazing how much of my life and heart I have forgotten!

Grace1958_f, when I feel that way it doesn't take long for me to remember Isaiah 55:10,11

"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."

I feel like God comforts me with knowing that even if I'm not "fighting" with my words, I can trust His words will accomplish far more than mine ever could anyway.

Scripture really is the best "sword"! :-)

I have also been praying that my prayers be like the loaves and fishes- I bring to Him all that I have as insignificant as it might seem in view of what needs to be accomplished and trust that He can break it apart and bless it to feed whomsoever He will ~ I just need to leave it to Him and be faithful to give what I have...to listen for His prompting and be obedient to do His will to speak His word " in season" ...

Eternal Joy, what an awesome thing to remember! That is so significant. It's an example of the Isaiah text Free posted just above: God used His word to redirect your thinking and show you He was right there, the Way, the Truth, and the Life! He Himself...not Adventism!
