I went to the store yesterday and bought another book he wrote. This one is called "One Vote". On page 4 what he writes sounds very pro Second Admendment. I recommend reading all his books as well as seeing the movie Gifted Hands. And watch Fox news as he is a commatater on fox. |

I think it would be very interesting in light of the Adventist world-view that we are controlled by the Illumnati, Masons, Catholic Chuch, etc. if a 7th Day Adventist became president.
Seems like it would totally mess with their deal about Sunday Laws, etc. |

I am almost finished with the book. He has an entire sub section in one chapter about the Second Admendmemt. He is very pro Second Admemdment. Get the book. It is only $3.49 at Costco. |

Appearing on Glenn Beck's radio show this past week, Carson took a vastly different stance from most conservatives on the issue of gun control, claiming you shouldn't be able to own semi-automatic weapons in large cities.
Asked by Beck for his thoughts on the Second Amendment, Carson gave the popular pro-gun argument: "There's a reason for the Second Amendment; people do have the right to have weapons."
But when asked whether people should be allowed to own "semi-automatic weapons," the doctor replied: "It depends on where you live. I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I'm afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it," Carson elaborated. However, if you live "out in the country somewhere by yourself" and want to own a semi-automatic weapon, he added, "I've no problem with that." |

That was from "Ben Carson on the issues". You can be his fan all you want, I however will stay far far away.
I frequent a lot of hunting and shooting forums and the feeling is almost unanimous against his 2a stance.
This forum is for former SDA's not Ben Carson's 2a viewpoints, so will not keep posting about it.

I think he also speaks nonsense regarding things spiritual.
Are you aware that (the last I heard)professes Mormon beliefs?

Yes Glen Beck is a loon but that was not my point.
I personally would not vote for any cultist, be they SDA, LDS, JW, or any other. We have had a Catholic in office but even that is a stretch. |

Exactly, Phil. It would certainly be ironic for Adventists, but it would almost be a moot point. Adventists are already preset receive the mark of the beast because they do not believe the mark is about not trusting Jesus. They believe its about an observance.
Moreover, 2 Thessalonians says that God will send those who do not believe a "strong delusion" so they will believe a lie.

According to my research on Google there are currently two SDA senators. One is Republican from the San Diego area and the other is Democrat from the California northern bay area. The info I found might have been old. In my opinion the SDA'S I know and have known just totally avoid discussing politics. So do the JW's. The pat answer with both groups is they don't get into it because we are obviously in the end times and evil will abound. Then they put on some old Del Decker album and rock out. Maybe The Kings Harold's , etc. |

Good question about the "strong delusion". The Bible says, for example, that Pharaoh hardened his heart, and it also says God hardened Pharaoh's heart. Paul uses the story of Pharaoh in Romans 9 to explain that God is sovereign, that His promises cannot be "undone", and that He is ultimately responsible for people.
Nevertheless, Pharaoh did harden his heart. As John MacArthur has said, when people persistently refuse to believe—when they WON'T believe— eventually CAN'T believe. I believe the delusion Paul tells of in 2 Thessalonians 2 is for the purpose of clearly demarcating between unbelievers and believers. God will not delude anyone who desires truth. But when people persistently refuse to believe, as the Pharisees did, eventually saying Satan was responsible for Jesus' casting out demons, then God will, in the end, send them a delusion so they won't be half-hearted. I can't explain it fully, but in the last tribulation, God will make it very clear who the believers and unbelievers are.

That makes sense. I would probably be taught that God is not actually doing that and that's just how the ancient people would understand it. |
