I have to share this email with everyone. I just received it today, and I'm excerpting the parts that aren't too personal so I don't divulge the reader's identity. I'm sharing this because over the years, my conviction that Adventism has a satanic connection has been only growing stronger, not less.

The writer of this email read our story of leaving Adventism found here: http://www.formeradventist.com/stories/tinker.html

When she read it, she felt she understood her own experience for the first time. Here's the email I received today:

quote:

After reading your testimony I almost feel like I know you personally.…I am a former Adventist. I left the church in the early 60s, close to 50 years ago.…

I remember Mel Tari and Judson Cornwall, the authors of books you read. Mel Tari spoke at the little church we attended in San Diego so many years ago. I recorded Judson Cornwall and his sister Iverna Tompkins at seminars during the 70s and 80s. I still remember hearing Judson praying before he was to speak as I was setting up my recording equipment in the next room. Judson is truly a man of God. My ministry was recording and distributing cassette tapes in the olden days when technology was just beginning.…

Today I had to set up our laptop so I could read part of your story to my husband. It is the part where you talked to your son about where Ellen White’s visions came from. You explained Satan’s hold on those poor people in a way I’d never heard before. Dare I say you were being taught of the Lord as you spoke? My husband had to hear your explanation. I hope you won’t think I’m crazy because of what I’m going to tell you. This happened to us when we left the church. My husband and I were beaten in our bed by unseen spirits. The blows felt like closed fists. We didn’t feel actual pain. Each of us thought we’d had a bad dream until one of us shared and we realized it had happened to both of us that same night.

Your explanation to your son about Satan having a hold on the people involved in Adventism gave us an explanation for the experience I told you about. That is what prompted me to write to you in the first place. In all these years we never understood what had happened to us that night and have been afraid to tell anyone about it. That’s why I had to set up a computer so I could read it to my husband. He’s on oxygen, 86 years old and not able to get around easily.

You have no idea what a relief it is to know the truth about it after all these years.Your ministry is a wonderful blessing to those our Lord is calling out from the bondage of Adventism. I want you to know I thank the Lord for you, will continue praying for your ministry. I’m beginning to think one who understands Adventism is best equipped to help those still trapped, looking for the true TRUTH.

I believe that it's only as we are willing to know the truth about what Adventism really is that we really lose the chains of bondage that attach it to us. There is such freedom in knowing and repenting of and renouncing the darkness that used to define us!

God knew us from all eternity and called us to Himself from inside that deep deception. He definitely gives us His work to do as we embrace Him and reality and leave the darkness behind in favor of His light and life!

Dear Colleen~

Thank-you for this post~

In reading it and also re-reading your journey out of adventism, I am reminded that each of the "Formers" journey is unique to each individual.

This being said, they do have common elements; and these, I believe, are what make the journeys the same and knit us together~ The Holy Spirit moving on our hearts to "come out" and our response, as brought us to where we are today~

Standing on the "Rock" of our Salvation~ JESUS CHRIST~ By GRACE Alone!!!
