thanks to all of you for your prayers. mary is fine, sleeping in her room soundly, still very groggy from the anesthesia - thomas, i'm praying for your friend, dick; and lydell, your son geoff; and colleen, your father-in-law. it's so wonderful having all of you, you really feel like family to me, i have all of you pictured in my mind! God has richly blessed me with this forum, i just want to publicly thank Him and say, man, i love you guys!!!!

love and prayers, carol

(p.s. for those of you who have had wisdom teeth recently removed from children, do you remember if their mouth stayed numb for a long time after the surgery? her surgery was over four hours ago, she's been home for over two hours, and her bottom lip is still completely numb. i'm a little concerned because one of the risks was damage to a nerve in the lower jaw that could cause permanent numbness. i know when i go to the dentist and have my mouth numbed i have some feeling back four hours later. ???)

Carol: A call to the Dentist Office is in order.

You should get a quick answer over the phone.

Our 19-yr-old had his wisdom teeth out last fall. He was numb for several hours; he had a very difficult time swallowing his pain pill because his toungue was so numb! He felt pain, but couldn't feel the rest of his mouthógo figure! It all came back, thoughóno permananet numbness. He did bleed quite a bitóRichard finally called the oral surgeon and who said to bring him in @ 9:00 p.m. Richard got him thereóand the bleeding promptly stopped. Isn't that the way of physical and automotive complaints?!

Carol,
My daughter renembers feeling a numbness for several hours afterwards. she did not feel too much pain but felt "floaty" from the laughing gas. She took her pain pills and placed ice on her face.
She healed much quicker than we expected. Surgery was done on Friday and by Sunday she was able to go to church. When you are going through the process, it seems bigger and of course there are many risks involves.

I pray she turns out fine.
Bmorgan
PS. Yes Dennis I share your concern for you dying friend and will pray the Lord opens the eyes of his heart so he can see Him high and lifted up, shining in the light of His glory.

My father-in-law is going home tomorrow on blood thinners. It looks like his heart is improving as his blood clots dissolve. They think part of his cardiac irregularity might have had to do with the EXTREME blockage in his leg. We'll see---

Thanks for your prayers for him.

I just wanted to ask for prayer tomorrow. I am having some minor surgery (carpal tunnel). I play guitar for the praise and worship team at church, and will really miss that while I am healing. I will have the other hand fixed after the right one heals. The Lord worked out the financing! I am still in AWE! "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." To God be the Glory!!!
Blessings,
Janet

Janet, praying that everything goes smoothly, that the Lord will annoint the hands of the surgeon, and you will heal rapidly. AND, that He gives you the grace to be GOOD and follow those doctors orders of NOT DOING stuff while you heal up. From what I have been told from doctors, the NOT DOING so the body can properly heal from this surgery is absolutely vital to the success of the surgery. So you should plan to consider this to be God's gift to you of time to just listen and soak in worship music instead of playing.

Janet, I'm praying for your recovery. Let us know how you're progressing and when your next surgery will be. And listen to praise music, as Lydell suggested!

Hi all,
I want to ask for your prayer this week. Right now my husband and I are being hounded at every turn. The devil has us down, kicking us like you wouldn't believe. I rely on Christ daily and I find some comfort in the word, but overall we are truly distraught at everything that is happening around us. I would ask that you pray for strength and faith for both of us. We both just feel like giving up sometimes, and the keeping on seems so hard sometimes. The Lord knows the specifics of the situation, so I would just ask that you keep us in your prayers as we walk through this week. Thanks all.

Hi Gracehound, I'm praying right now that you can experience the hand of the Lord Jesus on you in the midst of pain and hopelessness. Also that you are able to trust God, that somehow everything that is happening has gone through His hand, and that He is trying to give you BEST instead of better or merely ok. I've been there, and believe me you can TRUST Him. Love and prayers, I/O

Gracehound, I'm prayng for you, too. I'm praying that you and your husband will be able to trust God even though you can't "see", and that you will praise him even though the situation is desperate. I'm also praying that he will help you to know what you need to know and learn what you need to learn. Trauma always seems to yield something good from God when we entrust it to him.

Gracehound,

I will lift you and your situation up in prayer. Remember that the fact that you are "going through" this situation means that you are not "stuck" in it and you will eventually have "gone through"!! It is sometimes hard to remember all things work together for good but just what if you didn't have that hope? I'm praying for blessings on your life and know that Jesus will devour the adversary! Peace to you.

Thanks so much for your prayers everyone. The screws are still being tightened, but all week I've been relying on the knowledge that he that is in me is greater than he that is in the world. It's so hard when things look this dark to realize that the light will shine again. I thank God for the Christian brothers and sisters that God puts in our path at our most dire times of need. You folks fall into that category. Please keep praying. Thanks so much.
