Toria, your results are wonderful, as is your courage. I hope the good days significantly outnumber the bad!

Another prayer request. I have asked you folks to pray for my niece Kim who dabbles in the occult. Well she is going to have an 11 year old girl, I forget the relation ship, live with her and her husband. Her husband wants the girl there as much as my niece does. The girl has been abandoned my her father. Then not to long ago she came home from school and found her mother dead. Please pray for Kim, her husband and Sorcha, the girl's name, that God will work in all their lives. My niece has never wanted children, until she met this orphaned girl.
Thanks for all you prayers in advance.

My mom, who lurks on this forum occasionally (she's an Adventist) was diagnosed with colon cancer this past Friday. They they think it's in the earlier stages. She is going in for surgery next Thursday (27th) to remove a part of her colon, and to see how far it extends. She meets with the oncologist on Friday to discuss prognosis, treatment, etc.

I believe this comes at a spiritually critical time for her and my dad. There is a huge burden on my heart for not just her physical healing, but that through this difficult time, she and my dad may come to know and realize the "rest" that only Jesus can bring.

Thanks in advance for the prayers.

Grace

It seems like my own prayers are not heard, and I feel so frustrated, discourraged and angry with God. About three months ago I had my seccond baby, a wonderful little girl. I guess she is like any other baby, but I could need some help from above when it comes to nap and sleep times...

It is time for her nap, but so often she will not fall asleep. I pray that God will help her to fall asleep and stay asleep, but I guess 90 % of the time my prayers are not heard:-( I need the time to rest myself, to take care of my toddler, to be with my husband etc. But the baby does not sleep and it seems like God just don't care! I need help, I pray, but soon I don't know how to pray anymore. Soon I don't even want to pray, because it seems like God will not help me anyway...

God has created the world, helps people to find their car keys all the time, but WHY can he not help my baby to sleep when I need it the most??? Does he not care or understand that I need this little break to keep myself, my family and marriage togheter??? Stupid God, I think sometimes, because I do not understand this, and this is driving me nuts!!

Please pray again for my aunt. She has now taken a turn for the worse again, and her kidneys are not working. It sounds like there is only a minimal chance that she could regain some kidney function, and that they expect her to die within a few days without dialysis. She is refusing dialysis. :-(

Please pray also for her salvation, as we are not sure if she is saved.

Dear Father, please be very close to Berit just now. Please touch her with Your deep peace and rest. Your gift to us of Sabbath rest in Jesus is the most profound thing You have done for us. I ask You to give Berit Your true Sabbath rest, even if her baby doesn't sleep. Please hold her heart in peace, and help her to be able to trust you with what she cannot do or control.

I pray that her baby will begin to sleep, and I also pray that You will bring peace and rest to the whole household. I pray that her husband will see and feel Your presence, that Berit will be able to trust you with her fatigue and franticness, and that You will give her rest.

Thank you for what You are already doing in her life and in her husband's life. Thank you for this new child, and thank you that You are with her right now, that You will never leave her, that Your strength and rest and peace are for her now. I pray that You will be very real to her.

Please also be close to Jeremy's aunt. Soften her heart and give her a desire to know you. Please be near the whole family and comfort them and hold them.

Thank you, Father.
Amen

Berit, our pstor's wife said that after her second child was born, she fell into a deep depression and was afraid to be alone lest she hurt herself. She said that Gary, her husband, told her she must fill her mind with God's word because that was where truth was. Truth was not in her own head and emotions. She said she began to emerge from her depression when she began to read the Psalms and also to read the words of hymns that spoke of the truth about God and Jesus.

I'd just like to suggest that, even if your baby is not sleeping, you meditate on a verse from the Psalms. Read a few verses each day, and if you can memorize a verse or two every week, you can recite it and ask God to reveal Himself and His will to you through His word when you are frustrated.

God is with you, Berit. It's OK to read the Psalms as your prayers, too. God knows your heart. He knows you need rest.

I just got off the phone with an Adventist pastor with whom I have been communicating for some time. The conference is after him and he must make a critical decision this next week. I will not give his name but he has been posting on the Forum. Please pray for this pastor and his wife. Also pray that the gospel seeds he planted in the Adventist church will continue to grow. I understand that some of his members are informed on the issues. Pray for the conference personnel that they will do what is morally right, not what is politically expedient. Pray that this pastor will know what to do when he is forced out of Adventist ministry. It is not easy to take a stand for truth when all one has to do is repent for the “mistake” of teaching the truth and promise to teach the mixture of Adventist truth and error so one can keep his position, finances, reputation and friends. This is the test of conscience that all believers must face in one way or another if we are true disciples of Christ. We must chose his truth over all else, especiaily if the gospel is at stake.
