Having been there I understand. So, I am praying that you have peace and trust that the Lord has a good plan for you and your family.

I want to report on the status of my Grand Daughter,
Yesterday we had lunch at the diner she has been working at and yesterday was her last day at work. When she got out of highschool she refused to go to college and has been waitressing for the last two years.

She seemed upset when we walked in, there was my daughter and her family, one of my son's and us.
I got to hug her one last time before she went.

I am afraid she is a little like Poppy, hard headed as a mule.
She said that the plans for the person to ride with her had unraveled and she is going to drive alone. We begged her not to go it alone and my son (her Dad) told her if she would just wait one more week he would take her.

Instead she left last night after working all day.
That is going to make the trip twice as hard by leaving unrested. She has no experience whatsoever driving long distance, she has never even drove 200 miles.

I have driven that route all the way to St. Pete and it is a bugger.

She has no idea what it is like to watch bumper to bumper traffic in places like Denver, Kansas City, or Atlanta and still catch freeways and turnpikes when your dog tired. She was wore out before she got to Baker City Oregon, much less Denver, if that is even the way she took, which is the shortest route of 3000 miles, any other way and it 3400 some odd.

Well friend,s the weeping and the worry is over and now that she has done this thing I have committed all to the Lord come hell or high water.

I am resting in Jesus, I didn't want her to go, but she went and I went the only place I know, I went to the cleft of the rock. I am at rest in him regardless of the outcome.

Now I turn my eyes to pray for Paul and family this morning.
The Lord bless you Paul and keep you at peace.
River

P.S. She has text messaging and cell, so she should be able to let us know her status, Kathy, her mother told us last night she would call us every time Brittney called. I thank God for my Daughter in law, she has been such a good daughter in law every bit of the last 22 years.

Father in Heaven, you know River's granddaughter went driving off alone cross country from Washington to Florida. Keep your hand on her and be her co driver on this trip. It is a long drive God. Keep her safe. Thank you awesome God.

Dear Lord,

Put an angel of wisdom and safety along side River's granddaughter as she travels this road.

Lord Jesus, Thank you for watching over Britteny and giving River peace. Continue to be with Rivers' son and daughter-in-law. Thank you for your peace in the midst of storms - for being the cleft River talks about.

Lord, I'd also like to lift up to you Paul and his need for a job. Father, keep his family and him in the palm of your hand. May he sense your presence and your providence.

Thank you, in Jesus' name,
Keri

I'm praying too: "Father God, please keep her safe as she travels that long distance, and please help Your will to be done in her life. In Jesus name, Amen."

That reminds me of something that happened to me years ago. I was a Seventh-day Adventist, so I wasn't saved. I had flown a small plane (Cessna 172) from Oregon/Washington to an airport just outside Chicago, Illinois. I was flying a couple friends who had to settle some family business - something like that. We stayed several days, and did some more traveling too. I didn't sleep all that well - you know how it is to be in a strange place - and then when it came time to leave; it was evening and I was tired. I had to work the next day back in Oregon, so I was ALREADY going to miss a day of work at my job; so I didn't want to wait. We got into the plane and took off. Curiously, the heater didn't work, so it was chilly in the airplane. If I remember right, it was early Spring. It had worked fine up to that point, so I think God had something to do with it not working - which I think saved all our lives.

It was a clear, smooth night as I flew and I kept drifting off. As soon as I did, I would abruptly awake. (My passengers were sound asleep.) The chill in the air of the cabin kept me from going deeply asleep. To give an example as to how tired I was, just before crossing the rockies, and just before dawn; I was getting the plane refueled at the little fixed base operation at an airport and I had gone into the little building. There was a couch in there. I lay down on it while the man refueling the plane went out to refuel it. I was instantly asleep and the next thing I knew, he was waking me up to ask me if I wanted oil put into the plane. Then he woke me again. I paid for the fuel and oil and we took off again.

I'm so thank-full that the Lord saved my life. I wasn't saved!!! (Oh, and the others too. They were Seventh-day Adventists as well. Over the years I've lost touch with them, so I don't know if they are still Adventist or what.)

Dianne
P.S. River, I hope you don't mind me adding my own story.

Dianne,
Thank you for sharing! A pilots license - wow! I'm thankful the Lord was watching over you while you were so tired!

I also have one small prayer request. Yesterday, I applied for a job outside the "system". I would simply ask for prayer that God's will and direction would be clear as I move to transition out of Adventism.

Dianne, God has been caring for you for a long time, like He did with me. I did not realize it until I left adventism.
