Hello ffiends. I am a new member here, a former SDA pastor and the author of a new book, Exposing Seventh-day Adventism. I would like feedback on my chapter 11 about the sanctuary. It is free on my web site so you do not have to buy it. I discovered that predominantly unintentional sins of ignorance were routinely confessed into the sanctuary. On the other hand, willful, deliberate, high-handed sins were handled by the judges and punishment issued rather than being confessed and forgiven. Great chapter! I discovered quite a number of the points you mentioned, in my study out of SDAism. Interestingly enough, when I shared some of the key points in chapter 11 with my conservative SDA friends, in my process of discovery, it did not compute with them, and they didn't really see a problem. But my understanding of the subject was not as fully developed as yours. After reading your chapter, the ancient Christian teachings about the Eucharist sure make alot of sense to me... eating and drinking the body and blood of the one sacrifice was said to cleanse a person from their accidental and unintentional sins, making them holy by infusing the life of God into the person. Spiritual action via physical means. I bet the Eastern Orthodox Christian understanding of Salvation has no conflict with what you've discovered. Except there is no OSAS doctrine in Orthodoxy. Russ, A hearty FAF welcome! Thank you for taking the time to expose Seventh-day Adventism in such an concise, organized manner. In the second chapter of your book, I noticed a minor grammatical error--a common one that you may want to correct for the sake of accuracy. Namely, your reference to the "Seventh-day Baptists" should be rewritten or spelled as "Seventh Day Baptists" instead. These are the OFFICIAL grammatical differences between the SDAs and the SDBs. Since your targeted readership will include many legalists, they would likely be tempted to dismiss your expertise based on even this small matter. Best wishes on your new book! Dennis Fischer | ||

Thanks Dennis. I will correct that on my web site, but it will have to wait a while for a book re-write until I can afford it. If that is all that SDAs find wrong with the book, then I have achieved my objective. As time goes on, I hope to introduce much of the other material from my book in condensed form. For example, Daniel 8:8-13 are not mentioned or quoted in The Great Controversy --yet they easily destroy the foundation of 8:14. | ||
