You mean I wasnt the last one to recieve Proclamtion this time! Or did I just get a really old one-- Jan/Feb lol. I was hoping to see something about the FAF weekend.

Patria, were you the same patria that wrote the story of faith article. I really identified with the happy, content adventist who met joyful, faith-in-action-and-deed Christians in a non-denominational Bible study. "Crucified with Christ" followers are the most powerful witness. Amazing the unity and genuine love, despite over 40 different churches represented by the ladies in the study I attend. Its a relief to go every week, where no one is allowed to discuss denominational issues! The focus must stay on the Word, and the Gospel. Thank you for sharing your story of finding the Gospel and freedom.

Gilbert, I also appreciated your testimony in the letters section! The Sabbath instead of the Holy Spirit represented as the seal of God was a early discovery that started me questioning seriously. That was a well written letter, and will impact many I think.

Thank you Colleen and Richard, for the work you put into it each time. Know that I pray for you all. I havent read the rest yet, but Im grateful for having some reading for my trip tomorrow. I appreciate the positive and useful articles.

Hi JavaGirl:

Yes, it's me.

I agree...the joy found in Jesus is remarkable, isn't it? He is truly all I need!!!

I love Proclamation! I was just finally getting to read through Gary Inrig's forgiveness excerpt last night...powerful stuff!

Well, at long last, I finally received my issue!
I will take some quality time to read through it, but I wanted to tell you, Patria, how much I enjoyed your article. I really liked this statement: "I began to learn that as Christians we are to expect trials, that the holy God of the Universe owes me nothing, Still, He squeezed His omnipresence into a human body and came here to suffer and die so that I could experience eternal life."

I love those AHA! moments. I would be interested to know how your ministry for SDA's is going. How are you being received? My friend, "Dd" and I have pondered doing something similar in the Walla Walla area, but are unsure how to go about it.

Colleen, I loved your article on forgiveness. You brought out some interesting points that I have not thought of before. I could relate to the statement: "I remember being angry that in my sincerity I had believed untruths to be gospel." I didn't feel this way so much with the SDA church, but I definitely felt this way after being a part of a fanatic group of SDA's. It took me a long time to get over this. I had to forgive MYSELF - because I kept thinking how stupid could I be?? As well, as how could I get led astray in a sincere search for truth??

I loved your closing statement. "We discover in Jesus that our ignorance and wounds no longer define us."

Can't wait to read the rest of the magazine. Thanks for including an article that gives tangible ways to discern a cult. And thanks too, for letting me say a few words.
:-)

All the sins ever commited have a single cause: Adam. He is responsible for our doom, misery, and all the problems we have in our life. With our sins, with other people, with everything that happens to us, with any frustrating thing. We donít ask for this, it was given to us, without a choice, and without a second chance to change our situation. We depend totally on grace, our repentance and our faith have another source. We are as helpless as a baby. Even now we are innocent victims. We suffer continually because of Adamís sin. Have you forgave Adam?

A good subject for Proclamation, but very hard to swallowÖ

My point is that, if we excuse our behaviour of hurting others because we have beeen hurt, nobody is responsible for any sin because Adam hurt us all, and we hurt others because we have been hurt by Adam. In this way nobody is responsible for his sins.

Actually, Jackob, you make a good point. And underneath it all, we face the fact that we have to fall in humility before God and acknowledge that His ways and times are beyond our understanding.

Even Job, the righteous man, had to repent at the end of the book because he finally realized that he couldn't figure out God's ways or analyze his own sufferings. All he could do was put his hand over his mouth and repent.

God is sovereign!

Colleen
