Exposing Adventism - God's 1843 Deception Essential To Identify Faithful
I have seen that the 1843 chart was directed by the hand of the Lord, and that it should not be altered; that the figures were as He wanted them; that His hand was over and hid a mistake in some of the figures, so that none could see it, until His hand was removed. (Early Writings, p. 74)Quote:
I saw the disappointment of the trusting ones, as they did not see their Lord at the expected time. It had been God's purpose to conceal the future and to bring His people to a point of decision. Without the preaching of definite time for the coming of Christ, the work designed of God would not have been accomplished. Satan was leading very many to look far in the future for the great events connected with the judgment and the end of probation. It was necessary that the people be brought to seek earnestly for a present preparation.
As the time passed, those who had not fully received the light of the angel united with those who had despised the message, and they turned upon the disappointed ones with ridicule. Angels marked the situation of Christ's professed followers. The passing of the definite time had tested and proved them, and very many were weighed in the balance and found wanting. They loudly claimed to be Christians, yet in almost every particular failed to follow Christ. Satan exulted at the state of the professed followers of Jesus. He had them in his snare. He had led the majority to leave the straight path, and they were attempting to climb up to heaven some other way. Angels saw the pure and holy mixed up with sinners in Zion and with world-loving hypocrites. They had watched over the true disciples of Jesus; but the corrupt were affecting the holy. Those whose hearts burned with an intense desire to see Jesus were forbidden by their professed brethren to speak of His coming. Angels viewed the scene and sympathized with the remnant who loved the appearing of their Lord. (Early Writings, p. 246)
Is this what the Bible teaches?

What makes sda's so certain Gods hand is not still covering the truth? They should be very concerned that if He would do it once, He can continue doing it as much as He wants!
Without the preaching of definite time for the coming of Christ, the work designed of God would not have been accomplished.
Hmm. I thought the Bible stated "no man knows the day or hour" so that we could discern false prophets and their false prophecies! Wm. Miller was both of those.
ellen white would have God contradicting Himself to identify those who would not submit to scripture, to call them a remnant. Yeah right.
It was necessary that the people be brought to seek earnestly for a present preparation.
And what does "present preparation" look like? How does an sda go about preparing for Jesus coming? What besides faith is going to justify an sda?
Also it is God that seeks us, not the other way around: It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. - Romans 9
The passing of the definite time had tested and proved them, and very many were weighed in the balance and found wanting.
Is this a judgement on all those who refused Wm. Millers false prophecy? Interesting.
Satan exulted at the state of the professed followers of Jesus. He had them in his snare.
So Jesus was not the author and finisher of justifying faith of those people who would not believe in a false prophecy, because they believed what the Bible said when it says "no man knows the day or hour" ... downright devilish of ellen white. Was this a vision Gilbert?

"Without the preaching of definite time for the coming of Christ, the work designed of God would not have been accomplished."So why aren't SDA Pastors preaching a "definite time" today?

Gilbert, it could be because they are waiting for God to tell them in advance when He is coming. Anyone who believes that is deceived, for "no man knows the day or hour"
Here is the deceived quote from their "authoritative source of truth":
until we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave us the day and hour of Jesus’ coming". -- Ellen White "A Word to the Little Flock" 1847

All that "mumbo-jumbo" Ellen wrote about God deceiving people to pressure them to "get ready", those totally unbiblical lies about God revealing His time of return, the fear tactics she used to "buy" people's loyalty to her...the oppression of it all...it's hard to realize how powerful a hold those things had on me subliminally.
Even after I decided I couldn't use her as a "prophet", I still had that doubt in my mind—What if she's RIGHT about something--even one thing? I can't just throw her out completely; I might throw out a grain of devotional truth!
You know, after walking the streets of Jerusalem, seeing Jews praying at the Western Wall, walking on the temple mount—it is more real and clear than ever that God has revealed His own plans in His own word. Jesus truly IS God's final word, and what God has promised regarding the yet-unrealized future, He will do. He will return; He will rule the nations; He will be faithful to Israel because of the patriarchs (see Romans 11)—not by giving them a "second chance" or a different way of salvation, but by un-hardening them after the full number of Gentiles has come in (again, see Romans 11).
I'm not trying to say HOW it will look; I just know that God keeps His word, and He is not done yet. He came the first time as our Savior; He will come again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
The Bible is ALL we need—along with the Holy Spirit indwelling us and convicting and teaching us the eternal reality of God's faithfulness, justice, and mercy. The more time passes, the more disgusted I am by the sophistry and intellectual dishonesty I learned as an Adventist in order to keep Ellen in some place of respect.

Colleen, I believe that "sophistry and intellectual dishonesy" is all we are born with, the natural man. adventism, and every other false cult out there practices many subtle and not-so-subtle methods of lies, misinterpretations, fanaticism, and what have you. I think Gilbert has documented several dozens of devious methods adventism itself uses. If they used the same one over and over, it might become apparent, but when they use one of this, one of that, and one from yonder, there is no way the natural man can discern all the subtle methods being used. Only the Holy Spirit can lead one into all truth, and we see error, falsehood, and heresy for what it is against the backdrop of truth.
Praise God is all I can say.

You're right. We're born unable to understand truth.
I keep remembering what my older son said several years ago. He's 25 now, and he trusted Christ when he was about 16 or 17. He had always been bright, but he had been very distracted and confused in many ways. He tended to "zone out" when things got overly stressful, and he'd just decompensate and not be able to complete things he started, etc.
He said one day when he was in college, "When I accepted Jesus, I was finally able to think clearly."
He's right. His ability to "connect the dots" and complete difficult assignments totally changed. And he wasn't a dull kid.
Truth and the Lord Jesus takes us out of darkness and puts is right into light and reality.
