I've been trying to witness to a sister and her family who's Mormon, but so far, the gospel doesn't seem to be "taking." There certainly are demons that hold a curtain of blackness over those in cults. Anyway here's my latest email to her... (I didn't specifically mention Mormonism but she hopefully will recognize it among these others.)

Dear ___,

Religions grieve me. What I mean by "religions" are those systems by which man is trying to reach God. It grieves me that Jesus has made it so simple - HE'S the blood Atonement for us, but people insist on trying other ways! He's said in the Bible over and over again that salvation is only through Him and to be saved, a person needs to believe on Him and just HIM! The "other ways" end in death.
Religions teach people that the "other ways" are necessary:

Islam is so different from Christianity that to excuse it's differences it teaches their people that the Bible has been "corrupted." But the Bible hasn't been. The Dead Sea Scrolls prove that!

Seventh-day Adventism is close enough to the Bible that it simply takes verses out of context and twists the gospel so it ends up being works in the end and no gospel at all.

The Roman Catholic church doesn't attack the Bible. It merely says that common people cannot interpret it - that only priests can interpret it, so the people are content to just do as they're told - go to mass and confess to a priest.

These all keep people from being saved. They keep people from accepting the ONE WAY God provided - believing on Jesus' finished work.

That really makes me horribly sad - thinking of the millions of people who die every day, separated from God for eternity - simply because they're believing a lie they were taught, or going on feelings or trusting all the miracles they're seeing (the Catholic church is BIG on miracles but the Bible says that in the last days demons will work miracles.)

Please be willing to accept Jesus' way instead of any other way to salvation. (Remember the Bible warns of many false prophets arrising in the last days.)

Love, Dianne
