I watched the first few minutes of the movie's trailer. It was very sub standard all the way from the acting, to the costumes, to the cinematography (handheld, shaky cameras and strange camera angles), to the dialogue and many other aspects. I assume it will have a very limited audience.

Looking forward to having visual proof that SDAs believe what they claim they don't anymore. There's lots of crazy heresy in DOA.

A couple of more thoughts....

The trailer promotes this as just the life of Christ, but if it is, then why does it end up promoting a book by EGW vs. the Bible?

My mother and I have been reading through the New Testament together. It was my idea, because I wanted her to read what the books of Galatians, Colossians, and Hebrews has to say. We are almost done with Acts now. She insists that instead of going on to Romans, we start reading the Desire of Ages. I do NOT want to start reading that book with her. I don't know what to do.

Butterfly; I suggest that you insist that you and she stick only to the Bible. Adventists say that everything they believe is in the Bible. Let her proove it! (I'm praying for you!)

(Perhaps say that you'll read the DOA if she can prove from the Bible that EG White is a true prophet. At least SDAs teach that the Bible is true!)

Classic bait and switch. I think you should insist on sticking to the plan. It just makes the most sense--you can point out to her that you don't believe that Ellen White was a prophet, but that you BOTH believe in the Bible, so it's better to stick with what you both believe in. If she wants to try to prove Ellen White later, that's her prerogative.

There's just too much in Romans that will challenge her Adventism. Just wait 'til you get to Galatians. If she does believe as Adventists say that they have no other creed but the Bible, she should have no problems reading it with you. I, too am praying for you. God's Word will not return void, but accomplish all He intends. It is so encouraging that she has been reading the New Testament so far.

Tell her you want the real thing and that if Ellen White's writings all agree with it, there shouldn't be a problem. After all, doesn't the Bible have all the truth she needs? (I know it doesn't because there's an extra source of truth, but you can challenge her on that.)

Many blessings as you point her to Jesus and His finished work on the cross.

Maybe say the agreement was the New Testament then you can start the DoA after finishing the NT as then you will have the NT background. Just an idea.

Just for the "fun" of it, I typed Seventh day-Adventist in the "search" bar on the site
and it came up with no results!

Why an I not surprised by this?!

The movie is based on lies! Praying that GOD in HIS Mercy
will open the eyes of the blind~

I looked up the cast. The young man who defected from Three And A Half Men wasn't listed. I thought by now he'd established an acting carreer with SDA movies. I guess not yet.
