Here's one error... In this little book of hers, "Early Writings," she wrote that Jesus went from the "holy place" to the "most holy place" in 1844 and that her and her group followed Jesus into the most holy place when He went there. On page 56 in the paperback one I have, she wrote that Christians kept worshiping at the throne in the "holy place" and that "Satan appeared to be by the throne, trying to carry on the work of God." She writes that Satan was trying to answer their prayers because they didn't know that Jesus had left the throne in the "holy place". In reality, Christians know and have known that Jesus went into the Most Holy Place in Heaven upon His ascension. A couple verses that make that clear are Hebrews 6:19-20 where it says Jesus entered "the Presence behind the veil" and when people understand that the high priest took the lamb's blood into the Most Holy Place every YEAR, they understand that Hebrews 9:25 is saying the same. I'd like to ask an Adventist if they think there could be a physical location that's HOLIER than where God is. Hebrews 10:12 says that Jesus "SAT DOWN" at the right hand of God! How about the rest of you? What other errors do you know of that Ellen White perpetrated that you'd like to put down? | ||

That milk and sugar turn to alcohol in the stomach and shouldn't be mixed because boozing is sinful. That riding a bicycle is Wong. It's wrong to wear jewlery, listen to modern music, drums are the instrument of choice of satan, men shouldn't shave on the Sabbath (however she didn't say women can't shave their legs on Sabbath so I guess that's ok),it's ok to go to nightclubs to witness the truth to the drinkers but you can't be drinking with them, pork is a sin to eat, Sabbath is six pm to six pm but then it was changed from sunset to sunset, children shouldn't go to school until age seven (all sda schools disregard this), smoking is a sin(she ment tobacco, never mentioned the other green smoke), doctors and drugs are to be avoided and sda hospitals are to not charge money as they are intended to be missionary hospital as 90's, oh, the list goes on and on and I haven't even got to any real issues Bibically such as the investigative judgement, state of the dead, heaven and hell issues, amalgamation of man and beast, and the prairie dress she wanted sda women to wear and that went over like a led balloon. There must truly be thousands! | ||

If you look up the references to tea and coffee in her book: "Counsels on Diet and Foods," you'll find several references like this one. (This time I went to the E.G. White estate website and typed in "narcotics tea coffee." That's a handy way to find her statements... Here it is. Quote: "And all should bear clear testimony against tea and coffee, never using them. They are narcotics, injurious alike to the brain and to the other organs of the body." I guess she had no idea in her time of the benefits of green tea. | ||

Christians so ignorant that they would not KNOW Jesus left the throne, so Jesus would leave CHRISTIANS there in ignorance to be deceived by Satan ????? And what makes her think that Satan would be allowed to be anywhere in Heaven, let alone in the "Holy place" ???? What a bunch of crap !!!  | ||

If you don't know about the sanctuary doctrine and the fact that Jesus changed compartments then when you pray the devil answers your prayers. That was always one of the most stunning claims I ever read. | ||

Yes, Lucias, when I was a kid in sda day school as well as Sabbath school we kids were taught to pray with our thoughts and not out loud because satan can't read our thoughts but if we prayed out loud satan would answer our prayers therefore tricking is into thinking God/Jesus was answering our prayers therefore making us really followers of satan. Clear as mud? | ||

Here's another error... In her book "Christ's Object Lessons," pg 155, she wrote that a person should never say they're saved. Here it is: Quote: "Never can we safely put confidence in self or feel, this side of heaven, that we are secure against temptation. Those who accept the Saviour, however sincere their conversion, should never be taught to say or to feel that they are saved. This is misleading. Every one should be taught to cherish hope and faith; but even when we give ourselves to Christ and know that He accepts us, we are not beyond the reach of temptation. God’s word declares, “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried.” Daniel 12:10. Only he who endures the trial will receive the crown of life. (James 1:12). Those who accept Christ, and in their first confidence say, I am saved, are in danger of trusting to themselves." Wow! What a direct contradiction of the Bible. When people accept Christ and know they're saved, they're trusting in Jesus not themselves! She also contradicted herself. "know that He [Jesus] accepts us?" VERSUS "should never be taught to say or to feel that they are saved???" Ellen White capitalized on a couple of easily missunderstood Bible verses that she wrested out of context to make her point. Much more clear are the verses that tell that Jesus does the saving entirely by Himself and that a person's works don't help do the saving. Here are some: " For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the GIFT of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 Now for any SDAs reading this who only have a KJV version which doesn't show the past tense in this particular verse, let me put down a couple more verses using that version that DO say saved! "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost" Titus 3:5 "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began" 2nd Timothy 1:9 So the early believers said and felt and KNEW they were saved! | ||

I alwAys understood 2 Tim. 1:9, who hath saved us to be current tense. In fact our salvation was secured at our conception or at least our birth. | ||

And here's another - WOW! There's a lot of them! EGW wrote in the book "The Great Controversy:" quote: "Too late they see that the Sabbath of the fourth commandment is the seal of the living God. Too late they see the true nature of their spurious sabbath and the sandy foundation upon which they have been building. They find that they have been fighting against God." Here's some verses that show that the Sabbath was the sign of the Old Covenant [Old Testament], what the Old Covenant was, that the Old Covenant was given only to Israel, that it became obsolete when the New Covenant came in, that keeping Sunday isn't part of the New Covenant and WHAT/WHO the Seal is in the New Covenant! The sign between ISRAEL and God in the Old Covenant: “You are to speak to the people of Israel and say, ‘Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you." Exodus 31:13 What the Old Covenant was: "And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments, and he wrote them on two tablets of stone." Deuteronomy 4:13 Who the Old Covenant was given to: "The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. Not with our fathers did the Lord make this covenant, but with us, who are all of us here alive today." Deuteronomy 5:2-3 That it became obsolete: "In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away." Hebrews 8:13 (Also when people die, the LAST will and testament is the one that's in force. Consider: " Therefore He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. For a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive." Hebrews 9:15-17) Sunday isn't the Sabbath, but neither is Saturday. It's not a day now, but a Person: "Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ." Colossians 2:16-17 And here's the SEAL: "In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory." Ephesians 1:13-14 According to Ellen White, a person doesn't get sealed until the end and then it's the Sabbath day that gets stuck to his forehead. But this verse says that the believer gets sealed with the Holy Spirit WHEN THEY BELIEVE IN JESUS. So it's SDAs who are fighting against God! They're worried that Jesus' righteousness won't be enough to get them into Heaven. Aren't they doing the same as these people? " For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." Romans 10:3-4 | ||

Punababe808; The time that our salvation is secured is when we believe on Jesus. Those who don't won't have salvation, though Jesus made ample provision by His death on the cross.
