This Doug Batchelor video was posted on YouTube on Feb. 28th and is already approaching 100,000 views! That would be "viral" for an SDA video, don't ya think? I have many thoughts, but what are yours (if you can stomach Batchelor for 42 minutes!)?

I can only take Batchelor as a project, any closer and the man drives me nuts.

Doug Batchelor is doing a critique of a conference where a bishop and friend of Pope Francis is speaking - Tony Palmer.

Now quite frankly I don't want anything to do with reuniting with the Roman Catholic Church either, which is what Tony Palmer and the Pope are speaking about, uniting with the Protestant churches as one universal Catholic chruch. (Personal note, never paid any attention to a Pope speaking before but this guy just seems dense or drudged as he is talking).

Of course Batchelor’s critique while it has some good point brings in the SDA view of the Ten Commandments and of the Pope and end time events, but not too much. As at the end Batchelor is advertising a video and there is where one will be given the really scary end time Pope and Sunday Law events all intermixed with EGW. Anyone watching this, rather SDA or those who are not SDA will want to get their hands on the video!

Kenneth Copeland then comes on stage and prays for the Pope as the Pope asked for them to pray for him. The people in the audience are part of a conference of minsters and such in the charismatic churches. Copeland then has a personal message sent back to the Pope per Palmer’s phone on the stage.

Kenneth Copeland then quote Eph 4:2-6 and thanks the Pope and thanks him for his blessings and thanks God for him (the Pope). Copeland mentions how things have changed.

Chapter 35 in Great Controversy, p 563 is then read by Batchelor, which he then says, “prophecy is fulfilled in your hearing.” He then goes on to talk about an Amazing Facts video which took three years to produce, “Revelation, the Bide, the Beast, & Babylon.”

interesting that he lists what will save you contrasting it with catholic doctrine ( personal relationship , daily walk, keeping sins confessed, taking up your cross) but does not say the words that describe salvation as trusting in Christ alone, the sacrifice of Jesus as atonement for sin by His grace alone - he is right to highlight the error of unity wth Rome but his conclusion is the error of the Adventist answer- he is still deceived .... and deceiving ... this is an interesting link to Dave Hunt of Berean Call talking about the same topic

http://mywordlikefire.com/2014/03/05/a-woman-rides-the-beast-the-berean-call/

and it was interesting that mr b accused the pope of reading from a script while holding his own script clearly visible- Adventist apologetics is always from a script-

also I wondered if the pope was actually trying to make a comparison of Joseph with the injured Protestant church and the brothers/persecutors being the Catholics instead of the way mr b interpreted it - it is still a stretch to say of the persecuting Catholic Church "what was meant for evil God meant for good" but I think it wasn't t completely clear how the pope was attempting to apply this story...

I found the reception of this message by this congregation to be undiscerning - Copeland is considered deceived and in error by charismatics that have rejected the word of faith prosperity doctrine - there was a powerful spirit in attendance at this gathering but not certain it was holy...the sending of a powerful delusion comes to mind...

ps-- this is a commercial for Doug b's video and he used this conference as a marketing tool in a most opportunistic way- I am sure he loved the timing of being able to use it for promotional purposes--- unfortunately it also then promotes the content of the conference and some who were or are not discerning are now able to open their minds about the Pope since mr b's answers are still in error- when presented with two wrong views will a viewer then be able to turn away from both? hope the viral nature of the views are limited to the already convinced on either side.... he has opened another door to error for the unsuspecting

The local SDA church here (there is only one) send out an email alert for the members to view DB's YouTube video, prophecy fulfilled.

The pastor writes, "I have seen this video a couple of times now and believe most certainly that this event has prophetic implications. I think our members should be aware of this development. For those interested, we will be showing this video immediately following our potluck this coming Sabbath."

That means my daughter and family will see it otherwise they won't have since they do not have good internet access for such video watching.

Oh, Mountaingirl... that's not good news, but not surprising. I'm gonna pray tomorrow about this.

Interesting, a friend here who is Catholic once told me that she heard when visiting the Vatican that the Official Stance of the Catholic Church on the other sunday keeping church/religion is that the Catholic Church considers them to be enemies of God and the Catholic Church and every effort should be made to bring them back into the Catholic Faith or if that fails, kill every man, women and child until they do come back..

Wow! Sounds like Islam! Perhaps the devil will bring Islam and RCC together in the end times!
