I expect Adventists latch onto this research which was done right in my back yard and spin it into Ellen White gold:

It's nonsense. Fat and protein are the only essential macro nutrients.

Eat locally raised, organic and sustainable meats that are healthy for you and stay away from corporate large scale industrial raised foods/meats, highly processed, given antibiotics, chemicals and GMO fed animal meat.

God never intended for cows to eat grain in the first place, let alone be raised in confined conditions.

So if this study has any merit it is because the meat used in the study was tainted to begin with, which sadly is the common grocery store meats of today.

Here is video " Farmed and Dangerous, a four-part satire aimed at revealing the "outrageously twisted and utterly unsustainable world of industrial agriculture" by poking fun at it."

Mountaingirl; did you mean "meat" rather than "grain? - that God never intended for cows to eat meat?

Cows are fed corn which is un-natural, but yeah I think I may have read somewhere that they are also fed meat pellets, candy too but rarely.

I know this is off topic, but the food we eat is probably my second pet peeve after Adventism. So when it comes to what industry is feeding us with, I think it is important to have a healthy body and brain, one in which a person is able to discern and think out logic. The brain, our mind is where God speaks to us, it where one is able to or not make decisions for good or evil.

No time in history has man had the worst worst food put before them and I do see it as another form of evil, in which Satan is using to kill as many of us a possible before one finds Christ.

Cows do best on grasses - grain, especially corn, is hard on cows' digestions.

And "Mad Cow Disease" [called a different name in humans] is gotten by eating certain parts of an animal that had it, such as the brain and spinal cord. Cows get it sometimes from the meat meal they're fed and can pass it on to humans.

(I read about a U.S. veteran from the Afghanistan war who got it because he ate goat brains with some Afghan natives. I guess he didn't want to come across as a "snobbish American," so he ate with them. He came down with the incurable disease, but it wasn't diagnosed until he had been dishonorably discharged from the military because of his increasingly sloppy behavior.)

In the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, after the flood God put out a set of standards for unclean and clean meats that humans were to follow.

Adventism took that and twisted it to the extreme, they even went so far to state that it was abolished at the cross. However, in my personal study of the bible, that standard of clean and unclean meats was NOT abolish at the cross. It is still active but as a guideline. Though humans do not follow it as they should.

Often times God has put in the bible guidelines which often times humans mistake them for laws.

There is major difference between guidelines and laws, it is very easy to cross the line. So one must be careful before calling any biblical guideline as biblical law.

I am food nourtic. But, when I go out with family and friends I try to not be so obivious. I know it goes back to my upbringing. During Lent at the church I attend when I am in California they have a Wednesday evening soup and bread felloeship/vespers service. I just cannot bring myself to even taste the bean and ham soup. It was so extremely drilled into me as a kid about the ramifacations of partaking in unclean meats that I just panic if I am presented pork.

Thalarian; please notice these verses:

God told Noah this immediately after the flood:
"And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. 2 The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered. 3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything." Genesis 9:1-3

Here God is separating Israel from unclean meats because He was separating them from unclean people:
" And you shall not walk in the customs of the nation that I am driving out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I detested them. 24 But I have said to you, ‘You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.’ I am the Lord your God, who has separated you from the peoples. You shall therefore separate the clean beast from the unclean, and the unclean bird from the clean. You shall not make yourselves detestable by beast or by bird or by anything with which the ground crawls, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean. You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine." Leviticus 20:23-26

Then when Jesus died, the wall of separation was torn down between Jew and Gentile:
" Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in His flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that He might create in Himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility." Ephesians 2:11-16
Peter's vision represented the Gentiles being "cleansed."
"The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.” This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven." Acts 10:9-16
"And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean." Acts 10:28

" I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean." Romans 14:14

So the law to not eat unclean meats was given only to Israel and represented Gentiles. (Also I'm sure you know that only clean animals were sacrificed - hence the reason why 7 of each clean animal went into the ark.)
