Rocky~

I believe GOD has 'Divine Appointments' for each one of His children!

One of yours was singing this song in that particular audience on that particular night!

Every time we sing it at church I get tears in my eyes!

~Blessings~

Rocky and MJ,

Isn't it just plainly obvious that song has FAR more power than ANY law or commandment to change human lives? You really don't need me to write out the previous sentence, do you, after watching that video? It really does nicely-demonstrate my insistence that Jesus broke the Sabbath: the power that he brought to us with his life and death and resurrection simply cannot be replicated in a law-oriented system. That's why he so emphatically rejected the law and willfully broke it: To demonstrate that he was here to bring us something FAR more powerful and life-giving. Law and Grace are two radically different paradigms that cannot be mixed. At all.

I worked in law for 19 years and never saw a single person transformed by the law. I am compelled to agree with Jesus.

JESUS unequivocally stated at the tomb of Lazarus,
"I AM" the "Resurrection"~!

He did not say...I was, or I will be, He said, "I AM", (present tense)!
Then went on to demonstrate His power with the raising of Lazarus.

Adventists, in general, agree with 'egw' that JESUS CHRIST
was Not GOD in flesh!

They are choosing to link their eternal destiny to 'egw', who has been proven over and over
to be a liar and and fraud!
And, IMO, channeled by satan...who else would have anything to gain
except him?

I am beyond grateful for the the assurance
of my eternal destiny~Since accepting JESUS CHRIST
as my Savior, and becoming a 'follower' of His,
and His, alone!

The difference between what I was as a deceived 4th generation adventist,
and what I am now, as a 'born again' Christian,
is darkness/Light~

My prayer, is for all the adventists who are still living and defending
'egw'...to open their hearts and minds to the possibility that they
have be 'snookered'! If they have the slightest
inclination that the HOLY SPIRIT is prompting them to study Scripture without the
writings of 'egw' to do it!

I believe it will change their destiny~ GOD will direct their study
and bring them to Himself~ He knows those who are His!

I am constantly awed by what Jesus Christ has done for me, especially as I do not deserve it. So all I can say is thank you awesome God.

I know...I'm late—WAY late— to this thread, but I have to go back to Islander's initial post. I heard Ted Wilson make that statement on the weekly Adventist News Network video online a couple weeks ago. He literally said that we perceive the Holy Spirit in our frontal lobes.

You know, if the frontal lobes are the receptors for the Holy Spirit, it only makes sense that our brains must have "animal organs" somewhere also, doesn't it? After all, that's the whole point behind not eating flesh foods and stimulants; EGW warned that they would excite the animal passions generating from the animal organs in the brain.

Good grief! What on earth did we believe?? It was so crazy. Of course modern Adventists suppress much of these specifics, but these are the SDA beliefs. These are the things EGW wrote.

We are BODIES. Period. And these beliefs underlie the "health message" and its usefulness as the "right arm of the gospel". It is THE best proselytizing method Adventism has. We've got to preserve and protect and obsess over our bodies. They are all we have, and they're all God has access to in order to influence us.

Isn't it amazing that God foreknows us and chooses us and appoints us to bear fruit that will last for the Father's glory?! (John 15:16)

I can just imagine that the Next thing that sda's promote is taking
"Selfies" and sending them
on to friends and others, to show how well the "Health Message" is working?!

Thus making this pass-time look less like narcissism? !

Asurprise~

The song you posted, "In Christ Alone", has been my all-time favorite since I became
a 'born again' Christian!

Many different Christian artists have recorded it~
Each with their own interpretation~
But the Great Message remains the same!

Thanks for the post! (^_^) ~

Foofighter~

The Christian recording artists, Keith&Kristyn Getty, have also recorded this~

I am particularly moved by they way they interpret the music and lyrics
because it has a rather haunting, melancholy sound.

Check them out ~

just to weigh in too ....my favorite version is by Travis Cottrell when it is combined with a full choir transitioning into "On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand"- the power of the combined voices is, well, powerful :-) This song is Resurrection Power
" ...bursting forth....He stands in victory" \o/. !!!!

Rocky,
That was a beautiful rendition of "In Christ Alone". Thanks.

On the right hand side that you can click on, there is a rendition of "How Great Thou Art" by Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill. Well, needless to say I got teary, as did many in the audience. It was at a country music awards show. It was fantastic.
