On Facebook, there is a group called "Ellen G White - False Prophet". A lady on there named Nancy Paige, wrote about her grandmother who was Canright's secretary. She tells about her memories of her grandmother, Arthur White, and the goings on surrounding this whole endeavor. She said that she had read the book 40 years ago, but having been out of the church for 30 years, decided to re-read it. It helps shed a little more light on the book and some of the goings on surrounding the book. | ||

Here's another book on Canright that I have shared in the past. It's a must-read: "The Case of D.M. Canright" by Norman F. Douty. Douty, a Christian, researched & wrote this in the 60's. This book was a real eye-opener to a generationally born SDA who had been raised to believe Canright was an evil man. You can find old copies on Amazon. | ||

Nowisee, I thought it was really interesting how the granddaughter of "Canright's secretary" remembered her grandmother. Not a very flattering picture of her, or how Arthur White paraded her around in such a false manner. And the secretary didn't seem to mind, in fact she enjoyed the attention. Just another example of the blatant dishonesty and manipulation of the members by their own church. It turns my stomach to realize what a horrible church I joined! The spiritual abuse that is perpetrated is shocking, to say the least. | ||

Thanks, Darrell! Haven't been here in awhile & just finished posting another recommend for this book on the thread River started re Canright. I read another book, (think it's "Cast Down for the Cross of Christ") which is about Albion Fox Ballenger. He was another SDA pastor who read the book of Hebrews & saw that it was inconsistent with the IJ. He was as demonized in my Bible classes all through school as Canright. Although this book is published by Andrews, it is still a huge indictment of what EGW & the church did to destroy this man's life. | ||
