Luke 15: from 8

The Parable of the Lost Coin

8 “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins[a] and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

My wife said a few days ago that her mother is writing articles for a website. So I was taking a look at this website (SDA of course).

I came across the parable of the lost coin. This site explained that the woman is the Church (cause woman in the Bible Always means the Church) and the lost coin is the Sabbath. When the lost coin was found, they told all the neighbours (other churches).

They totally lost the context of this parable if you ask me.

Have you ever heard this explanation of this parable????

Have you ever heard this?

Um, no. Never heard that. Makes no sense in light of Jesus explaining exactly what the metaphor represents. Jesus even says, "In the same way.....". Why would anyone give it a completely different meaning from Jesus, the one who told the story?
