Read it and weep (or shake your head):

http://atoday.org/adventist-jews-and-muslims/

Some of the highlights:

"Amongst major Christian denominations, Adventists are the most naturally aligned with Muslims:"

"Food: Like Adventists, Muslims accept the ancient biblical food principles, such as avoiding pork, blood and requiring the ethical slaughter of animals (Surah 2:173; 5:5; 6:118-121; cf. Acts 15:20)."

"Alcohol and other drugs: Like Adventists, Muslims oppose the use of alcohol and other intoxicants (Surah 5:90; cf. Prov. 20:1)."

"Holistic living: Like Adventists, Muslims oppose monasticism, such as the celibacy of religious leaders (Surah 57:27; cf. 1 Cor. 7:9)."

"Modesty in dress: Like Adventists, Muslims promote modesty in all things, including clothing and activities (Surah 24:31; cf. 1 Tim. 3:9)."

"Sin: Muslims reject the Roman Catholic doctrine of original sin, emphasizing sin as an act and not a state (Surah 53:38-41; cf. Eze. 18:20)." [LUTHER ROLLING IN GRAVE]

"Death: Like Adventists, Muslims share something akin to the Adventist idea of soul-sleep, with the Qur’an explaining how a man was dead for a hundred years but subjectively thought it had been only a day or part of a day (Surah 2:259; cf. Eccl. 9:5)."

"Investigative judgment: Like Adventists, Muslims emphasize the judgment of God (Allah), where everyone will be called to give an account (Surah 39:68-70; cf. Rom. 2:16)."

"Great controversy against Satan: Finally, and like Adventists, Muslims emphasize a great-controversy struggle against Satan (Surah 2:30-36; cf. Rev. 12:7). The Qur’an’s description of the Fall focuses more on Satan’s own fall than Adam’s."

Straying from the truth of the gospel will invariably bring you a step closer to the many errors that are opposed to the simple and true gospel of Jesus Christ.

This whole Adventist thing is really sad. But they are proud of being closer to Muslims, New Agers, Jews, etc. Always seeking to build bridges with these folks, it seems, rather than holding fast that there is only one saving truth:

God has drawn us into relationship with himself through sending his Son to die on the cross for our sins, once for all, paid in full, for all those who will place their faith in Him.

Oh, my...sigh.

Leifl, you are so right. They are proud of these similarities.

Kaspars, thank you for sharing this article!
