The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) has pulled the accreditation of Atlantic Union College due to financial reasons. AUC is currently appealing that decision to hopefully change their mind.(http://news.adventist.org/2010/07/barring-appeal-atlan.html)

Similarly, the pot is still boiling at LaSierra University over their alleged teaching of evolution in biology classrooms. A warning letter has been sent to LaSierra University officials by the regional accreditation association due to their proposed biology curriculum changes that could jeapardize their accreditation. SDA apologists certainly have a right to teach whatever they want to in their schools, but basic academic freedom and an adequate biological curriculum are required to continue accreditation.

Otherwise, LaSierra graduates would be considered inferior and/or unprepared for graduate studies in non-Adventist universities. Without full accreditation, SDA colleges and universities in the United States cannot continue due to the Federally-subsidized financial aid to students, etc. The return to historic Adventism by the new GC president, Ted Wilson, is a great hindrance to Adventist higher education. They are shooting themselves in the foot, and they are again finding themselves on the wrong side of the fence.

Although Adventists take great pride in supposedly being "creationists" (largely from observing Saturday as a day of worship), they are actually on the same side as atheists, agnostics, and secular evolutionists in their denial of the immaterial side of man. Thus, secular evolutionists and devout Adventists find themselves on the same side of the fence.

They both believe that man dies just like an animal. They refuse to believe in the dualistic nature of man; namely, body and soul. Moreover, they continue to spurn the preponderance of biblical evidence against their view. For them, seeing is believing, and what you can actually see with your own eyes is what you have and nothing more. All in all, both Seventh-day Adventism and secular evolutionary theory are very physical in nature. In the case of Adventism, this is reflected in veganism, lacto-ovo vegetarianism, tithing, sabbathing, footwashing, food lists, dress codes, jewelry prohibition, limited music appreciation, ad infinitum.

Oh, oh. Persecution already started. Fly to the mountains. One more proof that SDA is the remnant church and that EGW is a true prophet.
