I plan to write an article that details a side by side comparison in DETAIL contrasting the Bible and Ellen White, concerning the seal of God, the atonement, sanctification and forgiveness. Each of these the Bible says we have NOW! Whereas Ellen says that all of these are put off into the future. The following is merely an outline, not the article itself since I need to yet write it. However this information is so important I thought it best not to wait before sharing this wonderful news with others.

The Bible says you ARE sealed
Ellen White says the sealing is a future event

2 Cor 1:22
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Eph 1:13
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Eph 4:30
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

The Bible says you HAVE RECEIVED the atonement
Ellen White says the atonement is a future event

Romans 5:10-11
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

The Bible says you ARE NOW sanctified by the cross one for all time. The Bible says we are perfected forever in Christ.
Ellen White says that sanctification is a future event that we must "work" at for a life time. Ellen says we must try harder all the time to be perfect.

Hebrews 10:10
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:14
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

The Bible says we are saved by God's will not our own. This is not saying we are saved against our will rather that it is "God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." Philippians 2:13
Ellen White says we need to use the will in the right way in order to overcome sin perfectly. (Steps to Christ)

John 1:13
13 Which were born, not of blood, NOR OF THE WILL OF THE FLESH, NOR OF THE WILL OF MAN, but of God.

So then it is NOT OF HIM THAT WILLETH, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Romans 9:16.

Colossians 2:20-23
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom IN WILL WORSHIP, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

The Bible says you HAVE RECEIVED the forgiveness of sins
Ellen White says the forgiveness is not complete until after we pass the Investigative Judgment

In light of these clear differences between the gospel of the Bible and the "testimonies" of Ellen White we would do well to consider that the two teach completely different gospels.

Ellen claimed to be MORE than a prophet, and there is only one gift greater than that, which of course is apostle.

She claimed an angel guided her in what she wrote.

Paul warned that even if an apostle or an angel came with changes to the gospel that we were NOT to accept them.

Galatians 1:8-9
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Is Sanctification something in the FUTURE, "a work of a lifetime" as Ellen White taught, or is it PRESENT TENSE. The Bible is very clear in its answer.

Sanctification is NOT a work of a lifetime, it is not something that we do rather it is a FINISHED WORK of the cross.

We have been told, “man is to make earnest efforts to overcome that which hinders him from attaining to perfection.” “Sanctification is not the work of a moment, an hour, a day, but of a lifetime.” Acts of the apostles p. 482, 560. Don’t you believe it! Sanctification is the work of a moment on a very specific day. Sanctification for all believers happened on the 14th day of the first monrth 31 A.D. at exactly the ninth hour when Jesus cried out with a loud voice “IT IS FINISHED!”

The bible is very clear on this point,

John 10:36
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

John 17:19
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Acts 20:32
32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Acts 26:18
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Romans 15:16
16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

1 Corinthians 1:2
2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

1 Corinthians 6:11
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 7:14
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

1 Timothy 4:5
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

2 Timothy 2:21
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Hebrews 2:11
11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Hebrews 10:10
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:14
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Hebrews 10:29
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Jude 1:1
1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

=====================================================================================

1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

1 Thessalonians 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

1 Thessalonians 4:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

1 Peter 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
