This one is really bugging me. I need to find out how to share this with my Facebook friends.

http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=655628014230

Notice "...THAT SHE FOLLOWS THE HEALTH MESSAGE THAT IS FOUND IN THE BIBLE, ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE WORD OF GOD,.."

Two points: Is there a health message in the Bible and do the words "ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE WORD OF GOD" bother anyone? Hello? The Bible IS the entire word of God.

About the health message... I used to think that God told Israel not to eat "unclean" meats for their health. I was thoroughly taught that and believed it too, as an SDA.

When a person reads Leviticus 20:24-26, it's clear that God told Israel not to eat "unclean" meats to represent seperation from the "unclean" idol-worshipping Gentiles living round about them.

Then when God gave Peter that vision in Acts 10 of the sheet full of "unclean" animals, He was talking about Gentiles. The voice in his vision said: "What God has cleansed you must not call common." Acts 10:15
A little later when Peter went with the Gentiles back to Cornelius' house, he told them "God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean." Acts 10:28

There are other places in the new testament that say there isn't such a thing as "unclean" meats (Romans 14:14; 1 Tim. 4:1-5) and no wonder, since Jesus tore down the wall of separation between Jew and Gentile by His death!

Yes, those words: "ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE WORD OF GOD" bother me. Yes, the Bible IS the entire Word of God; I agree! Cults always ADD and SUBTRACT from the word of God!

Surfy,

I went ahead and followed the link to the actual video ~ you can comment. There are a whole bunch of "yes" men cheering the video. This is what I added to the comments.

"I just want to clarify ~ the "Health Message" was Ellen White's gig, not the Bible. What Jesus ate (and served to others) and what EGW taught/ Loma Linda manufactures are two entirely different things. Also, the Bible IS the entire word of God, not just an addition to the "Health Message"."

I say go for it!

Oh, that was perfect, Leigh Anne! Then he responded and you came back with an even better statement! I'm glad you aren't letting him get by with the hogwash. That is so true about Daniel. They take a snippet of the verse and then claim he was a vegetarian! Probably after the three weeks he even drank wine!

Thanks Barb! Someone actually put a "like" on my two statements, lol. However, judging from what the next person wrote, my posts appear to be a threat. Now how could clarifying Ellen White as the writer of the "health message" be such a threat to an SDA. ???

I'd love to see anyone else weigh in. Although, it's just a matter of time before my posts are deleted...

ugh... so sad to see praise given to a religion instead of where it's due. Sad that "ritual" was seen as more important than Christ in our lives. I left a message...

"I've met this lady and she's a sweetie. What is sad is that this video gave more honor to religion and rituals than to God. It is only by God's grace that anyone can live that long. I've known people who have lived by the supposed egw healt...h message and they died from cancer or other diseases at an early age. Why don't they interview the family of those people and see how egw's health message has benefited them? Then you have George Burns who lived to be over 100 years old... but I guess his smoking probably killed him! :-) Let's thank God that His Son has given us life... eternal life by His sacrifice. He is worthy to be praised!"

I reckon that I should re-post that link on my facebook profile along with my own comments. I'm sure you will chime in as well.

Viv ~ thanks! I posted one last question after you before we left for the beach. Don't even know if I want to read the replies...

Surfy, I'll check in with you as well.

You know, Jesus would NEVER measure up to the health message!

I know that lady. My family went to the same church as the Jettons. Their two kids are my olders sisters age. I did not know that she is still alive.

Barb, I loved your post and it was amazing that even after you wrote that Daniel would have eaten lamb at Passover... they still claim that he was vegetarian! LOL! It's just sad to see some of them posting that they are spiritually closer to God because of their diet. :-(

Vivian, you are so hard headed. The lamb that Daniel ate at passover was vegetarian. Have you ever seen a lamb which eats meat?

haha Hec! I thought that if Adventism existed since the garden of Eden that maybe Loma Linda Foods was around at the time of Daniel. He would have had something like "Lamb Wham"... or better yet, instead of Nuteena it would have been "Lambteena"!

Speaking of the Health Message and Wham and Nuteena, I've always wondered... What's the point?

Fake canned meat is not healthy. And you can't claim principles, because it's nutritional adultery (which thou shall not commit!). Do most Adventists eat it, or just the really unhealthy ones (I won't name any names)? How long have SDA's been eating it? If they really want meat, why not eat meat?

I'm curious...

:-) Leigh Anne

I checked in one last time on that link and the whole chorus of EGW cheerleaders are reveling in how great it is to be vegetarian and SDA. Blech!!

Wow, it sounds like they were 'really' trying to disprove Leigh! and the others who posted contrary to the health message. and a few bold ones were even equating salvation to vegetarianism. sad sad sad:-(

Leigh Anne, at my church the most spiritual were the vegans, but vegie meat is vegan. I was blessed with two cans of fri-chik and a recipe for a tator tot casserole (which was really not very healthy) after I brought a jello salad to a potluck. I posted the experience on a food thread a long time ago. Vegie meat was a source of income for the school. I was told the school food pantry made quite a lot of money each week. Vegie meat is expensive and you can get just about every kind you want from ho dogs to sausage ham. (Therefore, you don't really have to worry if you want unclean foods - you just get a fake one.)

Leigh Anne,
My mother used to call the veggie meats 'the Image to the Beast'
