I have the book some where in my bookcase along with to many other books. I learned there about her mother being adventist. That is about all I know.

I just did a google search on Sybil. She lived in Kentucky and went to a Seventh-day Adventist church until she died of breast cancer in the 1980s. Following is the url for this information.

I read somewhere that she grew up in Dodge Center Minnesota (a small town near Rochester, MN and Mayo Clinic) and attended the church there while growing up. I used to drive through that town and pass the church when I worked at Mayo and would go home for the weekend to visit my family.

Are we talking about the multiple personality disorder thing? I never saw the movie, but had a close friend with it - and did a lot of study into it - which really blew my mind - and I still can't really understand all of it. Usually, caused by SEVERE trauma and/or abuse before the age of five.

The book I read on it also had info on some of the sickest things I've ever read in my life and have never discussed with another living soul - things that actually happen under our noses - beyond belief. Makes me wish so much for Jesus to come back today.

yes 8th day, sybil or shirley mason her real name had terrible sick things happen to her, apparently her parents were strict repressive SDA. and shirley remained in the church until she died and said she forgave her mother, one of her personalities was deathly afraid of catholics, wonder what her sick mother told her about them?
