Could use much prayer right now. Last Saturday I recieved divorce papers by certified mail. I have been unable to contact my wife for ten days now. I have given this marraige all I have know how to do, to make it prosper, but have been told by her that it would be better if I wasn't even a christian than to not believe the doctrines of sda. This is what one of the ladies at church encouraged. She has been exposed to these pied pipers, and has eagerly followed them for the last two years, and rejects the simplicity of Christ. In the long run she needs the most ferverent prayers. I would like our marraige to prosper, and need wisdom to know how to proceed. There are things that I wish I would have done differently, but going foreward is my option at this time. she has said that I am kind to her and that she can tell that I love, and care for her. She has been ministered to that marraige can't succeed unless both parties are adventist, and she seems to want to prove them right. I pray for God to prove them wrong and, protect her from deception, for her to let Jesus into her heart, and to hear his voice, and not harden her heart. Her children are all taken in by this as well, and she has done much to separate them from my children and I.Our daughters were best of friends and so close, and my daughter , and wife were so close, even closer than her and her daughter were. I think that scared her. I can hardley see how her children will prosper in the future from this example. I pray that I can be an example for my children through all of this in a way that is acceptable to God, and shows his handy work in me. I have 14 days to respond to these divorce papers, or it goes into default judgement. A judge can't order her to let Christ into her heart. We need prayers, prayers we don't even know how to utter, and ask for your help on this.

Thankyou, Chris

Chris, I, too am praying for you and your wife - that God will intervene miraculously and give you the peace that the world cannot give during this time.

Chris, what Mary said. When something like this happens it causes weeping and tears for you.

I'm so sorry Chris, that sounds heartbreaking. I can't believe they are advising her that it can't work unless both are adventist!! That just doesn't sound right. I think she is getting some seriously unwise counsel. Maybe if you could find something written by an adventist that states that it is not right to divorce over that. The Bible doesn't say that! I'm praying for you.

One thing that SDA has always preached is that divorce and remarriage is permitted only because of adultery. And boy, do they get you out of the church books fast if you commit adultery. You can even break the Sabbath and they will work with you, but adultery? That's a different thing.

So I don't understand how they are advising divorce on the grounds of different denominations.
Even Paul said that if one is a believer and the other a non-believer (mind you) they should stay together.

Chris,
I am also praying for you and your family. I also went through this with the sda's trying to intervene in my marriage but I put the brakes on it. The bible tells us not to let any man come between you and that is what sda does out of fear that a non-sda will pull them out of the church and they will learn the truth. I have also seen this same tactic in other cultic religions. I had a friend who got mixed up with the JW's and they distroyed her marriage because she was married to a person of another race and he was a wonderful person. She has since left the JW's and has kicked herself many times for letting the church interfere and by then it was too late.
God,
Please be with Chris and his family as they go through this hard time of their family being split up and guide Chris as he raises his children and teaches them your word. God you know the situation of what is going on and so I place this in your hands and also give them the comfort they need.
I ask this in your Holy Sons name Jesus Christ.
Amen

It is with great sadness that I share with you that Cole passed away very early this morning. Mike and Tara shared with me that they could feel the prayers this week as they walked a very difficult journey. Please continue to pray for this couple and their families. Tara's dad is not a believer. I am sure that they will want the funeral service to be a testimony to the Lord. I will let you know when the service will be held. Isn't it wonderful to know that Cole is now in the presence of the Lord. We definitely do not grieve as those who do not have hope. Thanks again to all of you who have prayed.

Chris, am praying for your situation.

I am so sorry Blessed. But as you said and as we believe, he is with the Lord now and will not suffer any longer. What a glorious day that will be when Cole and his parents are reunited in heaven.

Blessed, my prayers are with you

Chris my hear goes out to you. I wish I had the words. Jesus said His word would pit family member against family member (I'm too tired to recall the verse I think it's matthew). The same God who said these things would happen is the same God who has you in His hands.

Cole's funeral was this afternoon and I just got home. Am exhausted and convinced that there mustn't be another tear left in me. It was a beautiful but very emotional service. The theme of trusting the Lord when we don't understand was presented in both the sharing and the message. I spoke with our pastor, both sets of parents and Mike and Tara themselves and all of them expressed how they have felt the prayers of so many over the past 12 days. Thank you FAF family for supporting this precious couple with your prayers. One day in heaven you will get to meet Cole and talk about his birth and your prayers. If the Holy Spirit brings them to mind please continue to pray for Mike and Tara. The hard part of empty arms and unfulfilled dreams is still ahead for these two.
