A young couple in our church became parents of a little boy this past Saturday. Fairly early on in the pregnancy they learned that this baby had an omphalocele which is a sack that protrudes from the belly button that carries all the internal organs outside the body. This is caused by a weak stomach wall. They were hopeful that the omphalocele would be small and with a number of surgeries the baby would live a normal life. Unfortunately the omphalocele is huge and the baby is not breathing on his own. The doctors have done all that they can do. I would really appreciate prayer for this special couple. They love the Lord dearly but are in great pain right now. One of the grandfathers of this little boy is not a believer. I will keep you posted as I learn more.

Thanks
Blessed

Father in Heaven, I know you are the Great Physician and I thank you for that. I thank you that you and Jesus are one. Lord, be with this baby and his parents. Heal him and may your name be honored and glorified in all. Thank you awesome God.

Lord, God, you know the emotions and needs of this young family right now - we ask that you would hold them up during this time. Be with Blessed as she reaches out to them. Amen.

Here's an update: the mom has developed a fever and infection and won't be able to see the baby until it is gone. She is in a lot of pain physically because they had to do an extensive (it was called a T for those who understand this) caesarean section and of course is in a lot of emotional pain as well because of the situation with her baby. The baby breathed on his own 20% yesterday which is better than 0% the day before. Everyone involved in exhausted. Thanks to all of you for your prayers on behalf of this precious family. I know they appreciate it.

Blessed,
I am praying for the whole family and asking God to wrap his loving arms around them especially the mother who is in not only in physical pain but also her emotional pain and also this precious gift He gave her and for the doctors to guide them in treating them both.

I just received an update from my pastor via an email. Here is some new information that he shared:

"As of yesterday Cole’s lungs have shown signs of improved strength resulting in decreasing his reliance on the ventilator to 60%!
Early yesterday evening, the doctor came in to remove the dressing surrounding Cole’s omphalocele for the first time and to his surprise the omphalocele has shrunk nearly 20%! The doctor cannot explain this. Mike and Tara certainly can! We believe it is the power of prayer that is occurring for this young family."

Thanks to all of you who are praying for this little guy and his parents.
