This tour sounds like a really great idea!
Wish I could attend! It's a little far away, like about 5000 miles :-(

Maybe sometime...

River,

As long as your lost keep driving and I'll meet you in Michigan!!

All of you who are going to Michigan I can't wait to meet you. Michigan is where I first heard the gospel and has a special place in my heart even though I no longer live there.

Now I have to give a warning to you folks that are going to be in Michigan--I'm a hugger. Now I respect people's boundaries so if a warm handshake is all you can handle tell me ahead of time because when I see family (which as brothers and sisters in Christ you are) I give big old hugs Jamaican style

I am a hugger also, but will not be at any of these meetings. So give each other a hug for me. I love each one of you. I am praying and will continue to pray for the tour. God is using each of you to do His will. God bless and be with each one. Our awesome God is watching each of you.

FYI - I'm also taking RSVP's for planning purposes, for the July 10 & 11 Miamisburg (Dayton) Ohio venue. If you are coming, please e-mail me at rickbarker@fuse.net.

We've just barely started getting the word out, so have little idea of responses yet.

Seekinglight - I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks!

The 10C say "Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's trip." I guess I need to go to the priest and confess so he can impose the appropriate penance.

Have fun y'all.

I am so excited to see Miamisburg, OH on the list! We are just 2 1/2 hrs away from there. My wife said she'd like to come, so we plan to be there!

Raven, I'll send you an email soon. What sort of information do you need from us for RSVP, besides just names?

Great, Clinton! I'm mainly trying to get a rough count. We're trying to see if we can pull together some sort of FAF fellowship opportunity, perhaps lunch on Saturday. An idea of number of people would help us know what would work out best.

Once we have the details worked out, I can post something on the forum, and contact anyone directly if I have their e-mail address.

Overview Of The Third Dale Ratzlaff Meeting, ”What About The Fourth Commandment”, Rosenburg, Oregon, June 13th

After the first two meetings, Phil’s wife had a minor medical emergency (Phil can give the details later) so he asked me to write a recap of what was said and done of the last meeting, so here goes..
Essentially, the meeting was a summary of Dale’s book, “Sabbath In Christ”. He began the meeting with an overview of the Old Testament references to the Sabbath. How the ending of God’s work was a rest that was intended to be the lifestyle He was to share with Adam and Eve, but sin ended that perpetual Sabbath. Dale pointed out that nobody kept or knew about a Sabbath as a day of worship and rest until it was given to Moses at the fourth commandment. God gave the Sabbath to Israel to be a mini Garden of Eden experience every week, a time to spend in leisure communing with Him.

Dale then talked about the old covenant and old law were tied to circumcision and keeping the Sabbath, and how these and other rituals and requirements pointed to Christ. He then contrasted how when Christ came and fulfilled the old covenant, so circumcision gave way to baptism, and the ritual of Sabbath was changed to the Lord’s Supper.
He outlined several really great texts in the New Testament that showed that the old covenant was done away with, and that Christ is now our rest anytime, anywhere.
I will be reading the book next week while Dales words and ideas are fresh in my mid. It will really help the next time I talk to my friends who are still SDA about how non-Adventists are finding their Sabbath rest.
There was a Q&A session afterwards. Dale asked us to write our questions on 3X5 cards because he wanted to keep them for future reference. The questions fell into two categories, the first was asked by folks who had no SDA/Sabbath background. They were mostly asking for more information about the transition from the old covenant to the new. The other type of questions seemed to be challenging Dales beliefs on several subjects and from the way they were worded, it was obvious that the person asking them had an SDA background and they were not interested in learning anything new. I later talked to the person sitting next to the person asking the later type of question. He told me the man was the head elder of the local church, and he wasn’t listening to the talk, he was busy all the while making notes to himself.
All-in-all, we had a great time at the meetings, and getting together with Phil, Jan, River , and Handmaiden, as well as talking to Dale and Carolyn, and the local Pastors who wanted to know more about Adventism.

As Bob noted, my Jan and I didn't make it to the last meeting, where I understand things got kind of interesting. We did have breakfast together and they left for home about an hour ago.

Anyway, UPS didn't show up yesteday, so we had to go to the local hospital and get emergancy prescriptions which couldn't be filled until today. UPS will not deliver the original insulin supply until tomorrow, so we are staying an extra day before traveling onward. We had planned on going over to the coast and then home but we might have to take the direct route as I have to back to work on Wednesday.

Everything has turned out well and we have met some wonderful people, some new, some from the forum and some old. It is amazing how big the Family of God is.

Our prayers include safe travel mercies for Dale and Carolyn.

Fearless Phil
