Jesus, the Living Water that gives everlasting life:

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:9-14 KJV)

My new avatar picture is one I call "My Water of Life" and ask the question; Are you drinking from the Source of Life or the Sewer of life?

I was one year old at the time this picture was taken, drinking from an irrigation pipe in a prune orchard on what was then the outskirts of Napa in my uncle's farm.

Someone once pointed out something about this water. It isn't a well that springs up from the ground into our mouths. It is a well that springs up inside us to everlasting life. This is Jesus's resurrection life.

Phil... I'm blind when it comes to these little avatars. Do you have a bigger picture of this on FB?

Thank you Phil for reminding us where our source of life is this morning.

Drink it in & pass it on

Joh 7:37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.
Joh 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'"

This is one of the verses that convicted me I was not drinking from the right stream. No life coming out of me!

There are a lot of folks who will try to give you stuff that comes out of them, but what they usually don't realize is the stuff they give is stuff that comes out of the wrong end.

I can think of at least one mean old harpy as an example.
