Am I saved?

I think this is a question that most of us formers have asked ourselves at one time or another, even on this side of Adventism. I know it's one I've asked myself, especially when I begin to trust my feelings more than the promises of God. When I think about it, the greatest hinderance in having the assurance of salvation is lack of trust. Whether it's trusting our works to save us, or trusting our feelings to give us an accurate depiction of reality, or trusting what a denomination/prophet tells us about salvation--anytime we place our trust and faith in something other than God, we will be left wondering...

What I've come to learn is that it's not just a one time decision to trust God, but a lifestyle. It has to be a way of life. I'm still working on that way of life--I guess that's where learning to walk in the Spirit comes in :-).

Earlier this summer (about 3 months ago), I saw the following video on facebook. I was going to share it with my forum family back then, but for whatever reason never did. I thought of this video again today and looked it up and relistened to it. I think it's a good message for all of us, especially given our backgrounds. It is given by Pastor Gary Inrig (the pastor of Trinity Church, Redlands) at the Gospel Coalition. It's concise and well-stated.

Is there a way to download and save that video ?
With some files there is a thing to click on and "save as" and then I put the item into windows media player to download onto an ipod to listen to or put on a disc to view later but I dont see that option on this.
does anyone know how or if it can be done ?
Thanks,
Francie

Hi Skeeter,
His interview can also be found on:
http://thegospelcoalition.org/

Maybe you can download it from there? I'm not computer saavy, but that is straight from the source so it may work to "save as" from that site instead of the facebook one. Once you get to the main website on thegospelcoalition go to "resources" and then "interviews". You'll see Gary Inrig as one of the people, and if you click on his picture you will see the interviews. Lots of good stuff on this site.

A person on trial in a court of law has to be proved guilty beyond a REASONABLE doubt.

If there is REASONABLE doubt of his guilt he must be allowed to go free.

Christ Jesus has removed all REASONABLE doubt that there is anything left undone in His finished work of salvation.

The Bible says that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, not just for those, who believe but also for the sins of those, who do not believe.

He, Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

Jesus removed allll REASONABLE doubt that He had paid the FULL price of sin and conquered death, hell and the grave, on our behalf
when He ROSE from the dead.

The RESURRECTION is proof beyond the shadow of doubt that Jesus won the victory over death.

The wages of sin is death.

Death could not hold Jesus in the grave because He had paid in full the sin debt by His innocent substituionary death on the cross.

Jesus saId "it is finished"

The resurrection proved the TRUTH of that statement.

The problem of sinS has been dealt with.

It is not ones sinS that cause them to be lost, as Jesus has paid for all sinS.

It is SIN that causes one to be lost ... ONLY one SIN will send a person to hell.

The SIN of rejecting the conviction of the Holy Spirit that one needs the Saviour...

It is the SIN of rejecting Jesus and His finished work on the cross that ALONE sends a person to eternitly separated from God.

If you have accepted Jesus as your Saviour and are trusting in His finished work alone.

You have NOT committed the ONE UNFORGIVABLE SIN.

Rejecting Jesus, the ONLY way to the Father is the ONE AND ONLY unforgivable sin.

It is the ETERNAL SIN against the ETERNAL God and it requires the ETERNAL punishment.

The punishment for assalting the president of the U.S carries a far more severe penalty than if one was to assult his neighbor.

This sin against God carries the most severe penalty.

Those who are IN Christ Jesus do not have to worry or doubt about committing this SIN.

They could not be IN Christ if they had committed it.

Therefore we have no REASONABLE doubt
of the assurance of salvation.

Do not let the enemy, who comes as a robber and a thief ... steal the joy and assurance of your salvation.

For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life,
and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."

If any of you do have any UNreasonable doubts at times regarding your salvation be assured that your doubt does not nullify the faithfulness of God

Thank you, Grace and Handmaiden.

I love the way you put that, Handmaiden, that the resurrection proves that the price of sin had been paid in full.

Praise God!

AMEN!!!!

LET THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD SAY SO!!!

SHOUT FOR JOY AT THE STUNNING VICTORY HE HAS WON ON OUR BEHALF.

PRAISE OUR GLORIOUS VICTOR JESUS.

GIVE HIM ALL THE GLORY PRAISE AND HONOR DUE HIS WONDERFUL NAME.

PROCLAIM THE GOOD NEWS ACROSS THE LAND

THE ENEMY OF OUR SOULS HAS BEEN DEFEATED AND WE HAVE BEEN SET FREE !!!!!!

Do you remeber the JOY of victory after the defeat of the nazi regime that ended WWII??

People were shouting and dancing and rejoicing in the streets proclaiming the victory of the allied nations.

Oh how happy they were that there was peace in the land again.

Saints of God your victory celebration should make that day look like nothing...as it is NOTHING compared to the GREAT VICTORY that JESUS has won on our behalf and the PEACE with God, He has restored to us.

REJOICE in the GOD of our SALVATION
