Dale Ratzlaff will be speaking this Sunday at the Antelope Valley Calvary Chapel in Lancaster, California. The address is Desert Christian High School 2340 West Ave. 'J-8', and you can find a map to the meeting place here: http://www.calvarychapel.com/church-details.cfm?ChurchID=100966

Dale will speak at the two morning church services: 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM, and the title of his talk is "A Comparison of Adventism to Evangelical Christianity".

We didn't go to the morning meeting, but we went this evening. Diana or Dundo will have to fill us in on the morning...but Dale and Carolyn said it went well, and so did Diana and Dundo. Dale and Carolyn had lunch with the pastor and his wife, and apparently the pastor said he learned a lot. The people were very responsive. We also heard that Diana's testimony at church was very moving.

This evening the attendance was quite good for a Sunday evening. We were trying to estimate the attendance after it was over...we're thinking maybe approaching 200. There were several Adventists there.

Dale's talk on the Sabbath was absolutely fantastic. He made some additions and strengthened a few places, and as unlikely as it seemed, it was even better than it had been on the Tour. Very powerful, and the audience was "tracking".

The Q & A panel consisted of Dale, me, Richard as moderator, and Nowisee from the forum. It went very well, and Nowisee spoke up and told how difficult it was to leave but how amazing to know she is saved. She was very powerful, and it was one of the most moving moments of the evening.

The pastor and his wife from the Lancaster SDA church were there. They seemed to be of a more liberal mind-set--he told Dale he didn't really believe the IJ, etc.. But there were members from his congregation there who were really confrontational.

One couple and a friend were absolutely argumentative. They stood and talked almost non-stop after the meeting to Richard and me, and I just kept looking at them and thinking, "Goodness, your anger is over the top! And you don't even realize how it incriminates your argument as untenable!"

I was astonished that, like the demands which surfaced at Lincoln before the Tour meetings, this couple couldn't let go of the insistence that we had an obligation to allow them to participate and speak back. The evening was advertised as a seminar with a Q & A period, they said, and we didn't let them speak.

No--we received all questions on 3 x 5 cards. But this man wanted to stand up and argue publicly. I finally told him to write down all his arguments on paper; he finally stopped arguing and walked away. His anger and the two women's anger was over the top intense...

The audience in general, however, was very receptive, and we gave away a lot of Proclamations!

Dundo and a couple of his friends told us about their encounters during the Revelation seminar with the folks from It Is Written. Apparently Bill Santos himself accosted them in the parking lot. The second night Dundo and Co. were there to hand out flyers to those attending, the Adventists would engage them in long arguments and attempted to distract and physically block them from reaching those arriving for the meetings with flyers.

One of the men in charge asked them why they didn't rent a hall and hold meetings and invite the community as they were doing, to which Dundo replied, "I will." Today's meetings with Dale were the result of that challenge.

We thank the Antelope Valley Calvary Chapel for hosting these meetings. We praise God for being present and for speaking so clearly through Dale.

AMAZING !!!!
Cant wait to hear how the morning sessions went also. Sounds like a great attendance for evening and I am sure the one's who were so disruptive were an embarrasment to even the rest of the SDA's there. Which may turn out to be a good thing...LOL
Maybe their actions will make the others see even more clearly the TRUTH that was presented to them.
What makes them think they had a right to take part other than asking questions ??? The Formers sure were not welcome to "take part" when they had their meetings ! But I guess that is different...LOL
Were these sessions recorded ? I knw we would all love to hear Dales talk and I would love to be able to download it and send to some of my inlaws to listen to.

Dale's sermon went very well. I saw people taking all kinds of notes. All I heard from those attending were positive comments about how glad they were to learn about adventism and how they had known nothing before.
He told about 10 things wrong with adventism and why. I was so nervous I did not take notes. The way I remember is that Dale said he was talking about the disease in the morning and the cure that night.
Dundo, Mike-his friend that helped at the SDA seminar and Pastor Mike said, at lunch, that it was difficult to get people to come out Sunday evening for anything. There were about 150-200 people there. That was a very good turn out.
I was helping Kim, Mike's wife, welcome people at the door. When the Adventists came in the Holy Spirit told me they were SDAs. After they walked past us, Kim told me those are the ones I was tellin you about last night. Neither of us saw the SDA pastors walk in.
I, too, thank the Antelope Valley Calvary Chapel for hosting these meetings. I also praise God for His presence there and speaking through Dale.
I wrote a blurb about my weekend on the members only.
It was a fulfilling and awesome weekend. Thank you awesome God.

Both of Dale's talks (one of the morning talks and the evening talk) are now available for download as MP3 audio files at Calvary Chapel Antelope Valley's website: http://www.calvarychapelav.org/specialservices.htm

The messages seem to be a bit mislabeled, but here are the direct links:

Evening: http://www.calvarychapelav.org/audio/mp3%20files/Special%20Services/Dale_Ratzlaff_Adventism_vs_Evangelical_Christianity.mp3

I just listened to the morning talk, and it also includes Diana's testimony!

Your story was very moving and encouraging, Diana. I'm sure a lot of people were touched by it, and also learned more of what it's like for us formers to transition out of Adventism and into Christianity. God certainly did use you and Dale (along with the others at the evening service, I'm sure) for His glory.

I am downloading them right now. I cant wait to listen to them. :-)
BTW : Today I went by a SDA church and I dont know what was going on in the middle of a Wed. afternoon, but I got a chance to slip about 7-8 of the fliers I printed up yesterday "Bible Challenge" under windshield wipers in the parking lot.:-)
Dont know if it will accomplish anything other than making some people mad... but ya never can tell. :-)

Good for you Skeeter. God will use whatever you do in some way. He is responsible for the results, not us. Isn't that nice. Keep it up.

I got almost half way tru the tapes and I was taking notes, one thing that really stuck out at me is that Dale said a million people a year fall for Adventism, can you feature that?

We are losing more to that cult than what comes out of it. I guess that shows just how hard it is to get unhooked once a person is hooked!
Its really time for evangelical churches to find out about what Adventism really is. Huh?

Yes, Dale said a million people join Adventism a year.. also said 300,000 leave. I think maybe more are actually leaving than is known. Since so many just stop attending and dont actually ask for their names to be removed.

I downloaded both talks onto my ipod and listened to them last night. Wonderful !
And Diana... your story was so touching... It touched my heart when I read it on facebook, but even more so actually hearing your voice instead of just reading about it.

Yes, I do plan to keep putting the "Bible Challenge" under windshield wipers at SDA churches at every opportunity. I figure it might help someone someday.. and the worst that can happen is to make someone angry and have them thrown away. But if even one person does the challenge and then shares and gets one other person to do it... it will be worth it. :-)

Skeeter, I pray God uses your little 'presents'...I've planted a few things myself, leaving it in God's hands to use them. Let's just say that some of the shoppers in a certain 'healthy' market & University bookstore may have found some 'treasures'!! :-) Keep on getting the word out!

Nowisee.
Hmmmm,,,, you just gave me an idea. LOL
Next time I go over to Fresno I might just have to go to the ABC store and put a "Bible Challenge" here and there through the store and maybe even sneak in a whole pile of them mixed in with the Bibles. :-)
When I have been there in the past there has always been only one person working up front and she has never seemed very observant of anything other than whatever she is doing behind her little counter.

Yes, Skeeter, you never know just who will pick up these items. No one has ever said 'boo' to me, even when I deposited a few very professionally done magazines (which 'Proclaim' the good news) in the actual magazine racks at the check-out stands of the aforementioned healthy market. Man cannot live by soy products alone!! :-)

Hey! I love it, too. I can't see myself going around the parking lot during church putting things on people's windshield wipers, but I have been thinking about that rack inside the Veggie Store front door that has free books about the Ten Commandments and The Truth About The Close Of Probation. No harm in placing a challenge where the people go.
