Some SDAs say that they don't keep the law to be saved. That they are saved by faith, but that they keep the law by faith. I don't quite understand this.

Paul says in Galatians Gal 3:12 But the law is not of faith, rather "The one who does them shall live by them."

So if the law is not of faith, how can it be kept by faith?

Exactly, it's circular reasoning. How is keeping the law before Faith any different than keeping it after?

They claim that the change of the law is that we didn't love God, before Jesus because it takes Loving God with all your heart mind and soul in order to keep the law. They freely admit that they sin but that what was abolished is the curse of the law. However scripture leaves no room for this thought, If you keep the law you have to keep it all and live by it. It had to be kept perfectly in order to obtain life.

We are indeed to be obediant to God through Jesus. We are seen as righteous even when we sin, imagine that. The only sin that will ever cause us to not have eternal life is to deny Jesus, or as Jesus said blaspheme the Holy Spirit since it is the Spirit that brings us to Christ. This is what the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write

Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

I would agree that my obedience is a fruit of my faith (walking by faith and in grace).. yet I don't define it as obedience to the Law of Moses.

8thday, I agree, obedience is the fruit of the Spirit through Faith and it's according to God's law which was fulfilled in Christ and revealed to us in Christ. Not as according to the Law of Moses. It could not be since the Law of Moses kept Israel until Faith in Christ came.
