The next time any of you hear someone use that term, I would like for you to give them the what-for.
Jesus death and resurrection is God's ultimate show of grace because we have been resurrected to a new life through the same grace. Jesus endured terrible pain and torture to secure our grace. There is nothing cheap about it.
The holy Spirit is sent by God's grace.
Even our faith is by grace.

Point out the blasphemy of their words.

Snewbie,

Since I live in an 'Adventist poor' environment I haven't heard that phrase in years. I don't know of any legalist around here. We would die before we could even pay the first month's interest due on the 'loan' and we wouldn't even have a 'down payment'.

"Cheap grace" is like when a Marine falls on a live grenade to save the life of his buddies. He ends up with a purple heart and the Medal of Honor posthumously. Those around him did nothing to save their own lives but there was nothing cheap about the "grace" he gave them.

I prefer "paid in full" when my sin account debt is is examined.

I absolutely agree Snewbie. That term and "Sunday keeper" really make me crazy. They are condescending, rude and pretentious digs towards grace loving Christians.

I suppose though, if one didn't believe that Christ's death was a complete atonement then grace would be "cheap" in one's mind. Might as well mean nothing.

Just come back at them with 'cheap works', there's nothing much cheaper than a filthy rag.

The grace that God has extended to us is not cheap seeing Corinthians I 6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

To say we have 'cheap grace' as if we owned ourselves to furnish it at all is rejecting the Holy Spirit. It also proves they are not a Christian, seeing as they deny the four pillars of Christianity.

The former may have a hard time with facing the fact that their Adventist relatives in all likely hood are not saved Christians.

I understand that as the other options are so horrifying as to boggle the mind. What it amounts to is just a bunch of cheap free loaders trying to work their way into the sheepfold some other way than what God has furnished.

I am not saying this as a blanket policy toward every Adventist in the world, but through their own deception they become actual enemies of the cross, fault, no fault, reality is reality.

Least it appears that way, but I can't sit here and swear up and down a person is not saved, but in the very least, I think there is cause for prayer for their salvation. I sure wouldn't want to die as an Adventist. I just don't hold out much hope for people who die in such a deceived condition.

Someone might say, "Oh, its not their fault, they were raised that way. I got news for you, they got more bibles than 20 prostitutes put together, so what will be the excuse?

An old Tennessee boot legger was asked why he kept making moonshine seeing as he had served so much jail time, and his answer was, "My Pappy made moonshine, and my pappys pappy made moonshine, and by cracky, I am gonna make it."

Do ya think they may be just a little hard headed? A wee bit?
You couldn't kill a Adventist with a 20 pound sledge hammer, he head is just too hard.

First you hit a Adventist upside the head with a two by four, then you preach to him.

Now here I go again raising a ruckas. Oh well...

I tried to keep a Sunday, but sure nough, come midnight it got away and became Monday.

Maybe if I prepare for Sunday on Saturday, I can keep ahold of it, seeing I'm off on Sunday.

Do you think my boss would pay me if I have a perpetual Sunday off? I think he's a Morman, he might go for it.

The problem ain't in naming it, the problem is finishing it.

Its not that I can't write fiction, its just that I don't have the will to put the time into it.

I may just throw a cover on it and call it good.
