I have not been here for about one and a half week because I had to travel to the Dominican Republic to the funeral of my sister who went there for a vacation and suffered a heart attack and died. We were very, very closed, and I will miss her terrible.

She was SDA but I had been working and studying with her and she had accepted Jesus as her only savior. Even though she was still attending SDA church, she did not believe in EGW and knew that law and works did not save her, but only Jesus. She also had accepted that man has a spirit who is born again and that when one dies as a Christian, one goes to be with Jesus. So I'm sure that she is with Jesus now although her body rests in a tomb in the Dominican Republic.

Please pray for her family. The kids were all raised SDA and went to SDA's schools, but they abandoned religion because they couldn't put together SDA and Christianity so they opted for nothing. Pray for me too because it's going to be very hard for me. She was probably to closest person I had in this earth beside my wife.

Thanks for the prayers.

Hec,

I am so sorry for your loss.

I have only one sister and it would be so hard to lose her.

Praying for you and your family.
Since your sister knew and accepted the true Jesus and His gift to her, as much as your earthly loss hurts, I hope you will find peace in knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord and that you WILL see her again.

1 Thess: 4:13 "do not grieve as those who have no hope"
What an adventure she must be having. :-)

I am praying for you and her family.

Oh, Hec, so sorry for your loss! When it's an abrupt & unexpected loss, it's very difficult. God will be very close to you & I will pray he uses this to draw her children to Him. Isn't it wonderful to really realize that she is with Jesus and that you will see her, not just "hope" to see her again!

Hec,
I am praying for you and your family for your great loss for now but also for the greater reunion you will someday have with her sitting at Jesus feet in heaven. I am also asking Jesus to wrap his loving arms around her children.

Hec,

God sees our heartaches and tears. "And because He lives, I can face tomorrow."

quote:

Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight; the clouds be rolled back as a scroll, The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend, Even so--it is well with my soul. (Excerpt from It Is Well With My Soul)

May it be comforting for you to know that we care deeply about you, and we are praying for you in this time of mournfulness. Truly, earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. "Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning" (Ps. 30:5 ESV).

I'm really grateful for all the prayers and nice words. Since I don't get them from "my church" anymore, this is the only place where I get them from. I thank God for this family.

I thought it would get better when I came back to America, but it doesn't. You see, when I was in the DR, after the funeral, it felt like I was there on vacation and my sister was back in the States. Now that I came back, everything calls for her. For example, I think that I have to go to her house to tell her about my trip to DR. Then, I remember the reason for the trip. I go to the store and see a big avocado, that she loved, and I think I got to get this one for Lucy, then remember that she won't be eating those anymore. But Jesus is soooo good. He reminds me that she won't be eating those anymore for a while. The time will come when we will eat then again. Also the new faith in the intermediate state is so comforting. Instead of her being sleeping, body and soul, and unconscious, I know that she is having a good time with her relatives who went before her and had accepted Jesus. So in a sense, although I miss her terrible, she is having fun. And oh boy, did she like to have fun.

Again, thanks all for your prayers and words of comfort. Oh, by the way, her daughter asked me, "I understand that you don't believe like the SDAs anymore, so now, what happens?" referring to her mother. so that is giving me an opening to explain to her what happens and hopefully, the whole SDA thing. Who knows, maybe the Lord can and will use this terrible thing to bring her children to Him.
