Here is something I found in a newspaper article about an upcoming sermon at the Yucaipa, CA SDA church. Each week the "News Mirror", a small community paper, gives an update on the sermon topic for the next church service. The subject of the sermon was "Friendship": /quote{After traveling almost 120 miles from Jerusalem to Damascus to persecute a church, Saul all by himself is blind for three days not eating or drinking anything. But most of all, Saul is the loneliest person on earth, in desperate need of a friend.} Um-m, Saul just met Jesus, was powerfully converted and had his whole life turned upside down and they are using what happened to him as a lesson on friendship?! If I remember right, I don't think he was alone either was he? Acts 9:7 The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. Acts 9:8 Saul arose from the ground; and when his eyes were opened, he could see nothing; so they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. Acts 9:9 And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank. Acts 9:10 Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Anani'as. The Lord said to him in a vision, "Anani'as." And he said, "Here I am, Lord." Acts 9:11 And the Lord said to him, "Rise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for a man of Tarsus named Saul; for behold, he is praying, Where does it indicate that he was alone? There must have been someone living in the house of Judas. Or did they go on vacation while Saul was there? Who cooked for him I wonder? Guess he just raided the refer, being alone and all. Probably ate cold cuts. I might as well assume they had a refer as assume he was alone. | ||

Typical Adventist ‘think’: it’s all about ME. By turning this event into a subjective emotion laden ‘how Paul must have felt’ they remove the focus from the objective event – the supernatural manifestation of God’s grace. Adventists will not accept that salvation is ALL the work of God and instead reinterpret the free gift of salvation into ‘if it’s going to be it’s up to me’, thanks to Wesleyan Methodism and it’s sycophant, Ellen. | ||

He was, till they started building modern Maytag's, now he's as busy as a one armed Vegas bandit. He gets more calls than a callgirl at a Whirlpool convention. You have to speak Chinese to even buy a Maytag any more. River | ||

A modern washing machine only has a couple of moving parts. All the rest is "programing". If the program goes out all you have is a "boat anchor". So, there still is nothing for the Matag repairman to do. When the delivery man brings the new washer make sure he takes away the old one. After all, you can only use so many boat anchors.
