Ok, I need to purge my bookshelves. I have taken off all the Ellen White books. Know I should take off the Bible Commentaries, but what about Maxwell's Bible stories we were looking forward to reading to our kiddies when they are old enough? I think I know the answer. Should I just throw away all books published by Adventist publishing houses?

Yes, throw out the Bible stories books too. Better yet, burn them. The Bible story books are Ellen White's interpretation of the Bible.

Throw out or burn all books published by SDA's.

Yeah, keeping that stuff is like lighting a cigarette, then claiming you are quitting smoking while you puff. Puff "I'm quitting", puff. :-)

The Bible Story books have such pretty illustrations, (at least I used to think so) but have subtle EGW stuff in them. What a waste of good paper.

I was absolutely shocked to see the illustrations in the children's Bible story books that are for sale right now in the ABC's. They are truly awful, both in writing and artwork. They are creepy and new age looking and one of the naked Adam & Eve pictures was totally inappropriate. There is a creepy illustration of the snake in the tree with a claw hand holding the fruit. Have any of you seen these? I can't see how any parent would buy them for their children.

Agreed. The Bible Stories must go. They overtly teach that we receive the Holy Spirit after we are obedient and keep the law.

Adventism is Adventism, and we can't learn the Bible from material produced by people who are rooted in a false belief about the nature of man, of Jesus, of sin, of salvation, and of Satan.

This winter... toss 'em in the fire to keep you warm! Do not donate or give them away!!! I've seen these children books at our public library... I'm thinking about hiding them... somewhere in a dark corner of the library where they belong!

I donated mine to a thrift shop way back when I first decided to get rid of them, and now I regret it! I wish I had destroyed them.

My wife and I were packing some things up last weekend when we came across our boxed-up EGW books. So on Tuesday and Wednesday I burned them out back. I was going to cook some bacon over the fire, but I thought that might make the bacon go bad.

I took all my SDA books to the dumpster in May, making sure they were thrown far back into it so that no one would/could 'dumpster dive' for them. Or I made sure I covered them with something else so they could not be seen. I had a lifetimes' worth of books as my parents were employed at the R&H (36 & 28 years) & I received books for birthdays & Christmas etc, plus what I have bought as an adult. I prayed over them also, that God would cause their complete destruction & in no way allow them to somehow come into anyone's hand or be retrieved. My husband is not yet ready for me to dump the bible commentaries, bible story books, or my bible friends - so all but the commentaries are boxed & stored in our outback garage.

Are you packing for a new job in another city Brent?

If so, I want to wish you well, and Gods best.

Thanks River. I received word today that I should expect a job offer next week from a firm in the northeast. We have been expecting such an offer for about a month now, and have been preparing our house in anticipation.
