I am curious how others handled the getting rid of Bible Story books, EGW Materials, Primary Treasure, etc that has collected over the years?

I want to be respectful of the items because of the Scriptures they contain, but I also believe because they contain teachings that have been perverted, it is not right just to give them to Goodwill or some other charity that will be unaware.

To me it would be akin to giving a defective used child safety seat, to an unsuspecting family.

Any suggestions?

I triple wrapped them in plastic and threw them in the garbage. Others have burned them.
I disagree that we should be respectful of them because of the scripture they contain. They contain lies, contradiction of the Bible and other heretical stuff.
That is just me.

Wiredog, we burned ours. There's no need to be respectful of something that is actually teaching Scriptural perversions.

I do have an alternative, however—there are apologists who are collecting Adventist materials. If you are interesting in shipping them to an apologist, email me at proclamation@gmail.com, and I'll give you an address.

I have threw them in garbage few times, yes , I was few times come-backing to them. So, now I do not do that anymore, because I become more stabilize in Jesus finished work. I am not afraid of any books at all, even once read Book of Mormon also, just to see it...and have read some of Curran and Bhagawad Gita also. I know that in Acts they do some of burning staff but in now days there is so much information going on, and we must to learn how to swim not to burn. I think like that.

Would you send all of the children's materials to me?!?! I am working on a project and would love more examples on how SDA doctrines are taught to children.

I'll pay for shipping. Email me at mcpryce@gmail.com and we can iron out the details.

Wiredog,
Welcome here! Been seeing your posts.

I just cleaned my house of all SDA books & materials this spring. I took them to the dumpster, threw them as far back as I could, covered them if they were visible, & prayed that they would be totally destroyed, that no one would 'dumpster dive' for them or in any way come by these books.

In some ways I regret that I don't have some of them to SHOW how evil they are - ie The Clear Word. But at that time I needed to renounce SDAism & everything about it. And much of those things are online.

Most of us have burned/dumped them. I kept a lot of the materials for research & proof purposes. My SDA friends and family will often say "she never said that" or "prove it" and when I can show them what their prophet said in black and white. I also use it for the youtube videos I do.

So though they have scripture verses sprinkled throughout, they do remain false materials so unless you are using for apologetic purposes I would say burn them on a cool night and roast some marshmallows

Thanks for the offers and comments. Like some others here, I like having something to physically compare what I have been taught (EGW/Adventisim) to what I read in Scripture. One instance was how EGW modified the event of Jesus resurrection. Sometimes I still I catch myself wondering if my recollection/understanding of a Scriptre was EGW or as written.

I'll hang onto them [TBS, DA, P&P, etc.] for now so I can provide citations when I write. However, I definitely won't be unleashing them on some unsuspecting family by donating them to Goodwill.
