I'm curious if anyone here has done Beth Moore's study on Daniel. My wife did it several years ago, and she found it phenomenal. My MIL (SDA) is currently in it and quickly approaching the week on Daniel 8. Daniel 8, as we know, is the "foundation of the faith." I've read through Moore's notes on it, and she gives an excellcent history lesson and dialogue on the chapter. Of course, Adventists have rewritten history to support EGW's lies. My MIL is quite ripe for the picking, as it were. She's begun to openly question her SDA foundations. I told my wife that with Daniel 8, she's about to reach an impasse, the first true challenge to her SDA roots that I'm aware of. She's transformed a lot by participating in a few Beth Moore studies, but if she knows her Ellen, I think she's going to be conflicted.

Anyways, has anyone here done this study, and what did you think?

Did it and loved it.

I must have not known my Ellen 'cause I don't remember my Adventism being particularly challenged by the portion on Daniel 8. As an SDA, I would always approach Beth Moore studies with an open mind, meaning, I wanted to sincerely understand how "the other side" came to their views that differed than mine. I didn't just want to dismiss it because my religious tradition didn't agree with it. It was one of the things God used to really get me grounded in the Word.

Beth Moore is awesome and one of the things that I learned from her is that differing approaches to escatology shouldn't divide the Body....which is not the approach that SDAs take...since they have a prophet that tells them exactly how things are going to go down in the End Times.

Awesome study. I did it a number of years ago and it so changed my thinking on end times. I do Beth Moore studies all the time and they are phenomenal. It is so nice to get solid theology taught and understand the correct interpretation of Hebrew and Greek words. Also good to learn about Antichus Epiphanis (excuse my spelling!!). How come Ellen White didn't know about him!!!

I'm glad to hear the above, because my sda step-daughter is now going to Beth Moore Bible studies. She won't tell her Dad too much about them, but it seems to be mostly watching films. She got connected to them because she is allowing her kindergartner and first-grader to attend a Christian school--we are privileged to be sending them. Two weeks ago they had a speaker, singing, and a small group of women were prophesying during part of it. She said it was really 'weird'.

I did that study, and really enjoyed it. I like that Beth Moore doesnt act like she has the final word on everyting. She clearly teaches different views of end time events, etc, even when she presents her beliefs, she mentions other points of view from others who have spent lifetimes studying Daniel/Revelation.

The down side was I went throught some serious spiritual warfare during the study. At one point, I became shaky and nauseous. I had to have the women in my study group stop and pray for me right then and there. God answered their prayera, and I remember having to post here on FAF forum for you all to pray for me, the battle was so intense at times. Wish I could find those posts. In the end, it was worth it. Just cover in prayer. :-).

I did the Daniel study but I don't really remember it one way or the other. Our bible study has done many Beth Moore studies. This one did not impact me perhaps because I was not a 'former' at that point & maybe not really open even though I have cried out to God for years to know His truth according to His Word. I may have arrogantly thought I could share some 'truth' with them.

As an sda you could never have Daniel without Revelations attached.
I liked Beth Moores study of Daniel as it answered a lot of questions.
As I look back at my experience with sda on Daniel and Revelation it was always about doom and gloom forget history.
Jlondon81 I will be praying for your mil that God will lift the veil so she can see the real truth as they study chapter 8. Hopefully she will go into it with an open mind.

I did the Beth Moore study this summer with some never been SDA's

... sorry, I'm entering this thread so late so late ...

I found myself in awe of God's Sovereignty and how He knows the future and does share it with us.

Daniel seemed to lay out the blueprint of prophesy in general and all other prophesies seem to coincide with this "overall" blueprint concerning the nations.

The whole SDA "sanctuary" cleansing is a crazy, crazy interpretation in Daniel as you look at the overarching whole and context.

I found myself in awe of scripture as I realized how all of the Bible "hangs" together so well - including Daniel and the prophesies found in this incredible book. I was nervous like most former's because of my previous understanding of Dan 7-9.
