Tonight the leader of BSF made a statement that is really making me think and I want to share it with all of you. She said God's greatest feat was not creation. There are only 2 chapters in Genesis devoted to that. God's greatest feat is SALVATION which is seen throughout the OT and in the NT. I am still wrapping my brain around that one.

Very interesting, Diana. Salvation required more than God's word; it required the Son to humble Himself and take on the physical body of His creatures. It required Him bearing the sin of all humanity.

Very interesting statement. Thanks for sharing it...there's more to ponder there than I've thought of, for sure!

Pushing the "like" button. There is a lot to that statement.

However, I still think His greatest feat would be if He could make a rock that was too big for Himself to lift.

Ha! I'm pushing my "like" button too!

I just finished reading a book called "The Grace of God" by Andy Stanley. Overall I enjoyed his book and the stories from the Bible he used to illustrate grace. I was VERY dissappointed that he spent TWO WHOLE CHAPTERS trying to bring out the concept of grace from the 10C's.

I was disappointed because it seems that whenever people think of the old covenant, they only think about the 10C's. Why didn't Andy choose to tell how the Israelites didn't have to pay the penalty for their sins because God made a way for them to receive forgiveness and atonement through sacrificing a perfect and unblemished lamb? There are only 2 chapters written about the 10C's and many more chapters written about the sacrifices. Isn't the sacrifice and the forgiveness and atonement it offers more about grace than the 10C's? After all, they are a shadow of what Christ's sacrifice means to us... the grace we have through Christ's death.

If we look at the old covenant through the lens of salvation as your BSF leader talked about... then the old covenant is ALL about the sacrifices and the feasts and how they are a shadow of salvation. The 10C's are just there to lead us to the sacrifice... nothing more.

p.s. I was telling my boss the other day that if God had chosen chocolate instead of blood to signify atonement that us girls would have completely understood this whole thing a looooooong time ago! ha!

I to love milk chocolate. When in Tacome I stop in at the Brown and Halley company store. They sell five pounds of peanut mountain bars at an unheard of low price. Alas, I am dieting had better not go to Tacoma very often.

I like both light and dark chocolate. My husband bought me a box of chocolate covered cherries and put them on the shelf above my computer knowing I am on a diet. So far I have resisted opening it. The gesture was great but the timing stinks, haha.

Skeeter, I will have to try prutting them in the freezer. We freeze our cherries with the pits in them and when I want a snack I just get a couple of them, yum yum good!
Off to the freezer, haha.
