As posted on Internet Monk this morning (the whole article is great and well worth reading. This is just a snippet to whet your appetite):

"Legalism is sin. . . . It never ends. The only way to stop the madness is to die. Die to your identity as a sinner. Stop embracing the idea that you are still in sin. Instead, embrace the notion that God has forgiven you totally: Your sins of yesterday, your sins of today, your sins of tomorrow. It really is true, you know. The Lamb is slain from the foundation of the world. We were forgiven from the start. The prison doors are unlocked. The only thing keeping you behind bars is your refusal to see yourself as dead to your sins and alive to Christ."

Thank you God for the freedom that You have given us in Christ Jesus!

Mary, this is really good. Coming into a true biblical worldview instead of a great controversy worldview has made me realize that underneath the power of the gospel lies the mandatory acceptance of the fact that I am inherently DEAD in sin. I'm not just flawed and needing fixing. I have to be brought from death to life. I truly need a Savior, not a "doctor"!
