I woke up early this morning and a thought passed through my mind. I have not given it much research but was wondering if any of you can come up with examples that bare this out.

In the Bible I noticed that there are two (2) things that seem to portray opposites to to each other. Things of wood and things of stones.

For example, Stones--
The Stone tablets (the law) brought death.
Stones were used by the Jews to kill people who violated the law.
The tombs were sealed with a huge stone.
Satan tempted Jesus to turn stones into bread.

Wood--
The Cross although Jesus died on it. It came to symbolize LIFE for all those who believe.
Noah's ark was made of wood it was their refuge and protection from the flood.
In the garden of Eden stood the Tree of Life (yes and there was that other tree).

again not trying to engage in over symbolism and develop a doctrine but it seemed interesting at 4:30am.

Yet Jesus is the stone that the builders rejected Who became the cornerstone.
