I'm curious to know if there are any SDA's who actively use this site that anyone knows of. I'm not asking anyone to identify themselves as such.

I can see this site as a good tool for Adventists to use who are looking for answers that they are not finding at church and need another perspective, but I don't know if that is acceptable use of this site. From what I have seen of the users, I get the impression that you all would be fine with it as long as the person is respecting the fact that the site is intended for non-SDA's and doesn't argue every anti-Adventist comment made here, but is instead honest about what is being expressed and respects the opinions of others.

I've never seen non-questioning SDAs post here. Maybe the lurk. There are other sites where SDAs debate the doctrines with NonSDAs and FormerSDAs, but this ain't it.

The value of this forum is that it's a safe place and it's truly a place to learn and share.

I used this site and lurked for months before chiming in. I have heard the testimony of many formers that say they had a similar experience with this site, and that it was instrumental in their exit.

I praise God daily for this resource!

I think Adventists who are questioning their beliefs are welcome to post. If they have a genuine question, people wouldn't object. I'd love to answer any questions that people have! :-)

On the "Jews for Jesus" website, people post comments to the various articles and some people are DEFINITELY unbelievers! I've been posting comments lately with the prayer that someone will be open to the gospel. Here's an article. Click on the comments to the right and you'll see...

Of course I'm not saying that people should be allowed to post here the sorts of things like the comments by non-believers to the articles on the "Jews for Jesus" website! No! This forum is great for new and growing Christians, just the way it is! Thanks to Colleen and Richard! :-):-):-)

I think Richard and Colleen prayerfully screen potential posting members, but lots of Adventists probably know about and read the public section. Years ago, there was not a members only section so I could read everything - and it was very helpful in my seeing the truth about the things I was being taught.

Richard really does prayerfully screen requests for membership. He does not allow active Adventists to post here; this forum is designed for people who are questioning their Adventism, processing it, or who have friends/relatives who are Adventists and for whose sake they need to understand Adventism.

In fact, just this week Richard declined a request from an Adventist who wanted to have "respectful dialogue" with the forum members. Well...no. We all know the Adventists' perspectives and worldview; we are needing to learn what is TRUE.

Adventists, of course, are welcome to lurk on the open forum...but our commitment is to make this a safe place for people who are questioning, processing, or confused about Adventism to be able to exchange ideas and questions with each other and to get insight from those who've been out longer or processed through more "layers".

I learn SO much from this forum!

Colleen
