Welcome MJ!

Even Stephen saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

(Act 7:55)NASB
But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God;

How does an adventist get around this verse?

Just like they get around EGW saying she was 'Brothers Fitch and Stockman' in heaven in her first vision (at least I think it was her first). They say that what he was seeing was/will be taking place at a different time than he saw it.

Alison1,

I assume the new friend I have on Facebook is you. I am very impressed with what you do to keep your day busy. To make it easy for you, on Facebook I have suggested Colleen Tinker as a 'friend' so you can read her postings directly.

Indy4now; They get around that verse and others by assuming that the "proof" texts, which they don't know have been taken out of context, "prove" that the SDA church is true. When Adventist see verses that contradict the Adventist doctrine, they just "shade their eyes" from the verse(s) and say: "I'm sure that verse(s) doesn't say what it looks like it says. I'm sure that the SDA church explains it somewhere."

Anyway that's what I did when I was an Adventist. I cannot believe the extent of my blindness back then!!!
