I just went over to the official EGW site and did a search for the words "Islam" and "muslim". Not a single hit in the entire writings of EGW. Never mentioned once.

Am I correct in this? Did I miss something?

Colleen posted a picture of a muslim prayer rug in the Loma Linda Children's Hospital and now the post with a high ranking adventist pastor saying that Allah is the god of Abraham, the god of creation, etc.

Does anyone know of the official adventist stance on Islam? It sure sounds like they are in bed together.

Well, here's an article in "Adventist World"

http://www.adventistworld.org/article.php?id=523&search=Adventists%20and%20Muslims

And here's a doozie from "Adventist World" called: "Adventists and Muslims: Five Convictions." It says that a spiritual leader of many thousands of Muslims had had three visions about Seventh-day Adventists. In all the true stories that I've read where the Lord has REALLY reached out to Muslims, He has identified Himself as Jesus and told the Muslim to "Follow Me." Look here at what the Lord supposedly told this Muslim spiritual leader - nothing at all about following Him, Jesus!!!

The two articles are disheartening to me. We must pray that Christian efforts of presenting Jesus to the Islam world will not be undone by the teachings of cults.

I got news for them, true Christians (those who have been born again)will never give up Jesus to appease Muslims or any other religion, The body of Christ will automatically expel anything that is foreign to it, like the blood cells of the body rush in to protect itself from diseases, the elements of the body of Christ will rush in to protect itself from foreign matter that would sicken it or destroy it.

The Army of the Lord will not seek to appease the enemies of God.

Matthew 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Matthew 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

In the first letter they mention the fact that they are no longer being known as a cult of sect.

Wrong and wrong. And why would you mention that in the article in the first place unless you're worried about having that label used against you.

As for the vision about Adventists...all I have to say is...One false religion bolstering up another. And soon both will find out the harsh truth for themselves.

Also the Bible and Bible alone...I don't think so. To even claim such is blasphemy. IF you as Adventists truly taught from the Bible and the Bible only, you would no longer be Adventists.

You would be Christians.

It really grieves me to think of all the people who are in the various cults - SDA, LDS, RCC, Islam, etc. who think that they are in the ONE TRUE RELIGION!!! :-(

In 2008 there was a Great Controversy Anniversary Celebration calle Love of the Ages in the Ohio Conference. At that conference, Jan Paulien, formerly of Andrews Seminary and now chair of the Faculty of Religion at LLU, gave a talk on The Remnant. In that presentation he showed (!) that the characteristics of the remnant will share central values/characteristics of these three groups: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.

It's definitely a growing movement. Consider, for example, the Manhattan Faith House established by former Muslim but now SDA pastor Samir Selmanovic. Established in the later 2000's, this venture was partially funded by the General Conference of SDAs. You can check out its website and see the logo and read the list of board members:http://www.faithhousemanhattan.org/faith_house/leadership.html

Directors represent Islam, Humanism, Christianity, Judaism, and Hinduism. Here's their mission statement:

quote:

We are an experiential inter-religious community that comes together to deepen our personal and communal journeys, share ritual life and devotional space, and foster a commitment to social justice and healing the world.

"In meeting Muslim leaders, I emphasize from the outset that I prefer to be known as an Adventist rather than as a Christian." (Written by the man that debated Walter Martin years ago on the Ankerberg show).

This says it all.

Adventists are willing to die for the Sabbath, but the author of this article really doesn't want to identify with Christ when push comes to shove. I read a similar statement by some American SDA women who were allowed to teach a VBS in a school in a foreign land (forgive me, I've forgotten exactly where)...on the condition that they take the name of Jesus out of the songs and stories. They did.

When showing this article to SDA family members, they were very unconcerned.

This trend horrifies me, esp. after watching a few documentaries on how Muslim women (not to mention Christians) in predominately Islamic lands are treated by this religion.

To me, the Adventists sound like the christian variation of Muslims. I know the other day I did some research on the Muslims. I found that their dietary laws are the same as Judaism and the SDAs. I can understand that the Muslims would be attracted to the Adventist church, it isn't much different from their beliefs and lifestyle.

Muslims keep Friday sacred. SDAs Friday night and Saturday morning.

Why didn't EGW forsee Islam and it's issues in the 21st century? hmmmmmm
