Jim Valentine just notified us of this website: www.AfterMay21.com

It's Amazing Facts. Check out the "About Us" button on the site and notice their "core ministry beliefs". Not one mention of Sabbath, of EGW, of "state of the dead", etc. It's all just "We're here for you," and it's all deception.

Adventism, the organization that grew out of refusing to repent when date-setting was proven wrong—is offering itself as the source of true biblical knowledge to those who are being deceived by date setting.

Huh?

It's all deception.

:-( this all makes me very sad.... and it is also embarrassing that I was a member who not all that long ago would have thought they were trying to do a "good" thing. :-( :-(

Well, when there is oil in your lamp with plenty in reserve there is nothing left to do but keep watch and wait.

We need to keep this in a Jewish context to fully understand what is means to 'keep watch'. It is the groom's role to prepair a home for his bride, not the other way around. The bride simply waits and 'keeps watch'. When the groom's father sees that all is in readiness, he tells the groom to go and recieve his bride. Until then, as Jesus made very clear, "Only the Father knows" when this will be.

We all who are the betrothed Bride of Christ have an invitation to come to the wedding feast and we will be there.

PS
Through out the years, I have played most of the roles in various weddings. Now, I get to be the bride. May 21 would be just fine with me.

Phil : "Through out the years, I have played most of the roles in various weddings. Now, I get to be the bride. May 21 would be just fine with me."

:-) YES ! :-)

HOMESICK FOR HEAVEN ~

When first I asked Jesus to live in my heart,
And give me a new life within,
I cried when I heard of the blood that He shed,
And His death on the cross for my sin.

I loved Him for suffering there in my place,
So I could have life without end,
And I longed to be with Him - to look on His face,
And thank Him for being my friend.

I read of the wonders of Heaven above,
In the place He's preparing for me.
No sickness or sorrow can enter that land,
And I wanted its beauty to see.

Yet I needed Christ's help just to cope with each task
That life with its cares sent my way.
Through triumphs and failures that filled up my years,
My Heaven seemed ages away.

But now that I'm living my winter of life,
I find not a day will go by
Without precious thoughts of my Heavenly home,
And my meeting with Christ in the sky.

I'll see all my loved ones who've gone on before,
And I'll sing with the Heavenly throng.
I'll have a new body with no aches or pains,
And I'll worship my Lord all day long.

Each day brings me closer to life's curtain call,
When the face of my Lord I will see.
I'll no longer be homesick, for I will be home,
And with Jesus forever I'll be.

Skeeter, all of us formers were like that at one time in the past. I am just so very thankful that we are not there any more. And more and more are leaving adventism and finding that our awesome Jesus Christ is all they need.

Yes! I've gotta laugh, Phil...your point is great. I remember Richard saying to us all one night at FAF Bible study, "Women have had to deal with the fact that they are adopted "sons"...[because only sons received inheritances], but we men have to deal with the fact that we are the bride!"

Thanks for the poem, Skeeter...and it is amazing not to fear but rather to anticipate Jesus' coming back!

Colleen, thank you for posting this. I got this yesterday from my SDA mother-in-law. I browsed through the site and, for the first time in years, felt compelled to address the issue with her. I brought up Ellen's involvement in the Great Disappointment, but that was met with the generic "William Miller was a Baptist" response. In one of the video links on the site, Doug Batchelor makes a point in referencing that that there was no SDA church at the time. I think it's sad how little SDAs know of their own history. My second post to her was a simple explanation of how Batchelor's Final Days video was drawn directly from the text of the Great Controversy and not the New Testament.

I haven't approached her on these topics in years, mostly out of respect for her. Our relationship started out rocky and has taken a lot of time to heal, although she still believes I've caused her daughter to miss heaven. I knew I was taking a risk in bringing it up again, but I did what I felt led to do. My wife made an excellent point to me last night when I shared with her. We should all think about what end we are looking for when we directly challenge SDAs on their beliefs. Are we doing it for our own pride because we know we're right, or is our motivation the Gospel? My wife added that what's great about the was we view God's grace is that to us, SDAs are merely bound in the law, and therefore hindered from being truly free in Christ. To SDAs, just we're hopelessly lost. That's a big contrast! (Very wise woman, she is.) The line between gratifying our personal pride and being motivated by the Gospel can be kind of blurred, at least I've experienced that myself, to it's detrimental end I'm afraid. So long as we remain focused on the Gospel, we can hope to at the very least plant a seed, which is what I pray I did last night.

Good to see you again, Joel! I pray your MIL will be open to the surprising relief and freedom of the gospel of Jesus' finished work. It is amazing.

Did you guys check out the "free" book? Even though the cover art is extremely creepy, I thought I'd sign up for it just to get rid of it. However, the submission info is too personal (my telephone number, ETHNICITY, religion and age--what's up with that?)...so, forget it! It's a wonder they aren't asking for blood type and insurance info!!

Nowisee, yes. And the similarities between Camping and the SDAs and the JWs is uncanny. Camping has evolved from a very orthodox Bible teacher in the Christian Reformed Church back in the 40's and 50's into a full-blown cultist, setting dates, calling Jesus Michael the Archangel, and embracing annihilationism. As a friend of ours says, "they all have the same chairman of the board..."

It's quite unsettling. We really cannot hang our confidence on our knowledge. We must know Jesus and be born of the Spirit.

My DIL recently posted www.AfterMay21.com website on her FB. I took a deep breath and tried not to barf. Shortly thereafter, I found a video entitled: *Seventh-day Adventism, The Spirit Behind the Church* , that was shared quite some time ago (wayyyyy down at the bottom) on this forum and wish there was some way the truths of the error of the SDA church could be clearly disclosed to the general public before ignorant people get seduced into SDAism via www.AfterMay21.com.

One of the first speakers in the *SDA, The Spirit Behind the Church* video, David Snyder, former SDA pastor of 22 years, (whom the church fired just before he was to retire because he refused to back down from disclosing error in the teachings of EGW) is a personal friend of ours who works with my husband for a security company. The video, *Seventh-day Adventism, The Spirit Behind the Church* is located at www.exadventist.com/Home/Video/tabid/502/Default.aspx
